This preserve has a lovely walking trail and is dog friendly. However, there are some things you should know before you hit the trail here! The trail is not marked, and the only trail map available is a painted piece of wood that does not show the little short cuts that are available. Some parts of the trail have fallen trees blocking the path. This can be challenging for strollers, children, small dogs and basset hounds in particular. Aside from those few issues, this park has a nice wide trail with lots of interesting things to see. The trees are huge, old and majestic! Not good for jogging because there are too many root knots and fallen branches and logs, and the three quarter mile loop is kind of short. Not that you would want to jog here, it is peaceful and relatively quiet and feels like a good place to stroll.
