Decided this season to shorten our trip on a weekday and not do the North Fork, saving us time due to the after school-days shorter, thing. My wife mentioned some of her coworkers told her about Waterdrinker in Manorville. After deciding to go this past Thursday, we are so thankful we made the decision to take our 7 and 1 year olds there. At 15$ admission and the baby for free, we more than got our moneys worth. Other farms we have visited charge more than double that with similar experiences. We started in the farmhouse where we stocked up on local apples, a peach-blueberry pie (pic attached) and some other goodies like roasted corn, cake pops for our son and fresh cider. From there we toured the animal farm, which our daughter absolutely loved. Our son ran ahead and indulged in all they had to offer from trampolines to mini golf to riding tricycles. It was a safe layout which gave my wife and I comfort. No roads, cars etc nearby. After some time there, we did our pumpkin pickin and loved how the sky appeared in the background. It’s truly what this experience on LI should be. On our way out we decided to check out their food truck since we were hungry. It was parked outside a brewery that we weren’t aware of. The food was aces and we sat on a picnic table adjacent to the brewery. I loved my burger w the works, my wife adored the fried chicken and my son got the wings which I tried and compared to Hattie’s in upstate Saratoga. We had the best 3 hours till almost dark. Our children were fulfilled and so were we. We took amazing pictures and made memories that will last forever. I recommend this farm….especially on...
Read moreOne of the most beautiful and magical places to visit in Autumn. With countless activities, petting zoo, treasure-hunt themed corn maze, hayride, food, live music, sunflower fields and pumpkins, this is just the beginning of a long list of things to do here at Waterdrinker.
My wife told me today that this was probably the best family outing we’ve ever had, taking our 12 year old son, who didn’t spend a minute in his phone because he was overwhelmed by the sheer magnificence of this farm. Her words “I don’t ever want to leave” bring me so much joy as a husband and a father.
There are a bunch of Easterly things do to do and see in Suffolk county, but the folks here at Waterdrinker take this experience to an entirely new level, with no second place even close. Admission was 20/pp, is pet-friendly (over 100 dogs on leashes, with provided pet stations - to clean up after your dog), and acres of land well kept and clean every step of the way.
Good for young children too with the largest bounce house and playgrounds and ride-type activities, three 50-yard trampolines (tremendous), and more- this is the be-all, end-all best decision you can make for your family this fall. Food, bathrooms, and free parking, including handicapped parking make this event ideal for everyone.
So bring your best camera, your dog, and the whole family, and make the memories that you will frame on your walls and scrapbooks to tell your neighbors, friends, and coworkers when they ask you what you did last weekend.
I haven’t even listed everything in this review that there is to see and do. Go find out and discover for...
Read moreOur recent visit to this farm, ironically named "Waterdrinker," was extremely disappointing. Despite the steep prices, we decided to give it a try, expecting a quality experience. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of our expectations. The food and beverage options were very limited, with overpriced beer and no ATM on-site, which added to the frustration. Even more disappointing was the complete lack of any water features or refreshments, making the name feel misleading.
One of the biggest issues was the lack of shade. With nowhere to escape the heat, the visit quickly became unbearable. The sunflower patch, which we were excited to see, turned out to be tiny and underwhelming. Adding to the disappointment, there was no lavender, and the entire place seemed to be run by just two people.
We also wish we had known that the farm would be nearly empty. There were no food trucks, and there was very little of everything, making the whole experience feel lacking. For the amount we spent on entry for seven people, we could have seen the same things from the parking lot.
Given our experiences visiting various farms across New York, Pennsylvania, and Long Island, this visit was a significant letdown. The farm appeared to be running with minimal effort and care, leaving us with a feeling of wanting to give up on the whole experience. We hope they can improve in the future, but for now, save your money and...
