I enjoy coming to the lake at any time because the view is so pretty! There are many spots to sit and enjoy the view! Recently when I went for a walk during my lunch break I came across a taco stand that I have not seen there before. It is called dosbros tacos. I spoke to the nice kid standing at the table and found out that it's a new business that he and his friend started with the help of his father. The one kid was serving the tacos and his friend was making the order. It's small and up and coming so they do not have a variety of choices or toppings but I'm sure if they do well there menu may have more options. From what I saw looks like they already have the meats cooked and they just warm it on the grill per order. They use a white tortilla shell that is warmed on the grill as well. You can choose from seasoned chicken or pulled pork. The toppings they have are onions, cilantro, radishes and crema for a sauce. Like a Mexican sour cream. You get to choose any toppings at no extra cost. My only complaint is the tortilla was not warmed up enough so it had a slight raw bite. The prices are reasonable. They did have drinks and dessert. The dessert was a frozen ice pop. I was taken back by that choice but also thought it was a cute idea. In all in all the tacos were tasty and they had a good concept for a start up business. If you stop by the lake and would like a small snack give them a try! ( They got the name from the...
Read moreLived here 51 years wonderful place but used to be perfect. Mayor's of Canandaigua are wrecking this town building it all up destroying it. To many water crafts on lake. Not even safe for kayakers or canoers anymore. It's dangerous out there now. I've almost gotten killed a few times now. If you want to canoe or kayak now I recommend Hemlock Lake and canadice Lake big boats not allowed or jet skis only rowboats with max 9.9hp. It's fantastic there. And still virgin ground that can never be built up and no cottages on there lakes and great fishing. Honeoye Lake I would say is the best finger Lake for fishing then Canisius Lake. Canandaigua Lake was my favorite and great fishing Lake till about the year 2000 and it sucks now. I grew up on the lake and I fished every day there till 2000. My family owed about 1 mile of Lake frontage at north end my great gramps bought it back in the 20s it was all pasture for his cows and animals. And last 3 Acres was sold around 2005. Miss that place. Rose land days...
Read moreGreat area for boating! Our family doesn't do much lake swimming anymore (except while out ON the boat), so the lack of many good public swimming areas is no biggie to us. But our family enjoys fishing and boating on Canandaigua Lake. We use the NYS boat launch, which has a $7 fee if you don't have one of several available passes that allow for...
