We visited the hiking area many times, but this was our first time visiting the lake front at Onanda. Parking was reasonably priced $5 . It was beautiful.. what a nice large open yard for sitting or games, the kids loved the playground, sand at the volleyball courts, and mostly the lake. The temperature of the lake isn't what you would expect, but the kids didn't mind it at all. Changing room and bathrooms only two stalls open at this time. I loved the fact there were 3 life guards on duty. Picnic areas are available.. pavilions to use or else grab the blanket and find a nice shady tree to sit under. Grills to cook on. I thought I saw a sign about no dogs, but the geese poop you'll have to...

The view over the lake is great, we spent the day kiacking. One thing to be aware of is the other boats. There are far more people in motor boats than non powered craft, and most of the boaters couldn't be bothered about being courteous around small craft. One very large boat nearly capsized us because of how fast and near they passed. Not the parks fault at all, but something to...
