What's with this place? We came from a distance on a beautiful afternoon and the place was deserted. The store and cafe close inexplicably early at 2 and the haunted barn and corn maze were closed off. We checked their Facebook and there was no mention of them being closed so we waited for a bit, hoping someone was just at lunch. Many other people were wandering around confused, asking each other if they worked there. There was also a large unleashed dog wandering around that didn't belong to anyone.
We had a similar experience last year, but the haunted barn was open and we were able to kill time by going in and eventually a teenager came out and collected admission to the corn maze and sold cider and donuts when asked. This year no one appeared. We called inside and got voicemail. We saw someone milling around who seemed liked they worked there, but when we said "excuse me" they walked away.
They could have, at the very least, put a sign out or made a post on Facebook. We would have at least liked to sit and have a donut and cider before having to head back. We eventually gave up and went to leave feeling confused, frustrated and disappointed having wasting a beautiful afternoon. We overheard others in the parking lot saying the same thing. Read moreWent with a group of 14 (all family who were staying under the same roof and COVID free) people yesterday... when we walked in NO ONE WAS WEARING MASKS, including those in the back in the glass making donuts and food...and yet, when we all wanted to sit together, including four children, they would not let us sit together because it was "their policy". When I began to make a stink and threatened to go elsewhere, staff members began putting on masks, yet still continued to refuse to let us sit together. The food was terrible (burnt scrambled eggs... how does one burn scrambled eggs?), service was horrendous (had to always ask for refills on coffee, etc.), bathrooms were dirty (it looked like someone peed on the floor and on the toilet paper)... I will never go back and encourage others to...
