This is the restaurant at Apple Hills Farms, which also has apple and blueberry picking, seasonally, on site. When you enter the restaurant, you walk through a little gift shop, which has some nice artisanal crafts like candles, artwork, jewelry, etc, bulk spices, and also typical cheap gimmicky gift shop toys. Then you seat yourself in the restaurant, inside or on the patio. The cabin-like building and farm view reminded me of camping. It's a pretty big space with lots of tables, but there were signs up saying that 4 people is the maximum per table (at least outside), so if your family is bigger than 4 you'll have to split up. We sat outside because it was a little quieter, but were warned that there would be bees around. Don't sit outside if you don't want to dine with the bees. We poured some syrup onto an extra plate and sat it on the far side of the table from us, and that actually seemed to somewhat work to keep the bees distracted from our plates. Service was good. Our waiter was nice and attentive enough, and the wait for food wasn't too long even though they seemed busy. I ordered a short stack of pancakes with apples. The short stack of only 2 pancakes doesn't sound like much on paper, but they're massive - as big as your face. I was full with the short stack even without getting the meat on the side. It was easy to finish though because they were great pancakes, very fluffy, filled with pieces of fresh, juicy apple. It's a pretty good deal, pricewise. It was a nice breakfast and an interesting change of pace from diners or typical brunch restaurants. I...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and go somewhere else for breakfast. I work in the food industry for almost 10 years now and that was so far the worst food + service I have ever experienced!!! (Internationally). I don't even know where to start.
Positive: Location: it's a great location. Coffee was good.
Negative: Dry food, no taste, overcooked, and cold. A whole disaster. Just a nightmare.
Timing: we waited 1.5 hours to get food on a Sunday morning. It took the waitress 45 minutes to serve us the beverages.
Service: We had to keep remind the staff that there were drinks missing. Waitress didn't care. Our waitress didn't pay any attention. We had to keep asking the cashier lady for help. She was nice and tried to please us. It wasn't even her job to help us. But she did try her best since our waitress failed to execute her job. The waitress didn't bill us right. She didn't listen and was overwhelmed when we asked her to fix our bills.
General: This place is under staffed. Basic things like napkins, sauces, salt and pepper were missing on the tables. We almost thought someone is pranking us.
Service is slow and not professional. If you run a business do it the right way. Hire and train your staff properly.
The chef + waitresses require more training.
This was our first and last time. Never...
Read moreGreat for breakfast and lunch, but Sunday's are breakfast only. Neat takes on common comfort foods for either meal and everything is always made fresh and delicious.
My favorite for lunch is the tuna melt on THICK 8 grain home-maid bread. They also offer three home-maid soups and have a half sandwich and a bowl special. For breakfast they have the basic options, but also a panini with eggs cheese and huge sausage patties that will not leave room for desert (they have home-maid cookies and doughnuts) .
Breakfast or lunch, treat yourself to a side of raspberry applesauce as a side.
You walk into a cute little gift-shop and than to the tables. There's always a sign saying whether to seat yourself of to wait for staff (It's often seat yourself, esp when slow).
Service can be a little slow / aloof as most of the staff seems to always be high-schoolers, so you get what comes along with that. Also, no AC in the summer and often chilly in the winter so be aware. During nice weather, there is also outdoor seating.
They also have apple and other various fruit picking available...
