This place is great. It seems every time I go they are working on or have added new trails or features. Lots of good clearly marked trails from intermediate to advanced, the beginner trails are basically just fire roads if you have a hard time with some fast trails rocks roots or riding on ledges I would get better at riding before coming here. It’s not nearly as intense as mountain creek but certainly not for the faint of heart. Several trails have you riding on a ridge next to a cliff where a good stumble would lead to sever injury or death. Trails range from rocky and technical to flow and jumps and some in between. Maps online need to be updated because there are several newer trails not listed and at least one big trail in the works. As far as direction of travel I’ll try to save you a few miles of walking up super steep hills. If you park at p1 you will get most of the uphill out of the way right at the beginning and it’s all downhill to the car. P1 walk or ride if your a beast up skyline drive to basically the monument from there you can mess around on turn table throwing stones tow path and sugar free not necessarily in that order. These trails can be hit in either direction with pros and cons to either direction. Avoid “flagpole” which was renamed cosmo or cosmic Charlie I always call it cosmic because that’s straight down hill back to p1. After the few at the top I would hit five bridges (which has several jumps) and leads you into dukes crossing. Both trails not listed on the online maps but clearly marked trails. Go up dukes to ohnazee from there you could switch back to price check into blueberry karma back to scouts honor then cosmic to the car. Or you could go down scouts honor which is more technical with a jump or two into dukes back to the car... if you park at p1 avoid talllulah and do downs because you will be walking uphill the whole way it’s probably three to five miles depending on which one. Walking up resivoraur road is a much better option. Bringing you to the top without killing you right off the top with not a sever amount of climbing in between runs. Walking this road will bring you to p3 and from there you have many options all are good a personal favorite line is starcrawf to price check to blueberry karma to sugar free to throwing stones to boys out to five bridges to the car. The other trails near p3 are all good. Caught a look at the new trail they are building that starts up there and it looks nasty... this place may take you a few runs to find a line that you like the best you may find yourself walking your bike up the wrong way on a trail. But it only takes once to learn that lesson. It’s a great spot to ride with friendly people. And the guys that service/created this place are great and dedicated for giving something like this to...
Read moreWe’ve been upstate for 7 years now and have never been to this park. This morning we checked the weather, took out TrailsApp and looked for a trail near Port Jervis and found this one. The area has a bunch of different bike trails that you can walk. While there is service mostly everywhere I still recommend that you download the map. On every intersection we had to take the app out to see which way to go and still made a few wrong turns 🤣 The trail kept jumping from red to blue so it’s easy to choose the wrong path. It’s very loopy but it’s designed for bikers and gives you those extra miles. You’ll see deer and hear birds and see a lot of chipmunks. Once you get towards the port Jervis side it gets noisy! There are beautiful views of the town and Delaware. Overall, this is a great spot. Plenty of different trails, bikers and walkers can enjoy. The place is huge and we only saw a few people on the trail...
Read moreWatershed Park is large and offers trails for bikers and hikers of all ability levels. Make sure you obtain a copy of the map before setting out, though cell service here is moderate. This place is known for mountain biking, so keep your party (including dogs) ready for encounters. There are several designated parking areas, of which I prefer the one next to Deerpark Reservoir. The reservoirs are nice for views and breezes, but strictly off limits for swimming and boating. This park closed to hunters and is a good choice for an autumn...
