Elks-Brox Memorial Park — Attraction in City of Port Jervis

This is a great place to walk if you want a quiet walk on wooded trails. There are many trails accessible both from above and below. Most are woodland trails and best done with good footwear. I have come across some black bears up here so be aware of your surroundings. Usually a good conversation with fellow walkers is enough to send them scurrying away from you. We were in the area awhile back for a getaway. Loved it up top at the park. Great view of Port Jarvis also PA and High Point in NJ across the river to the left . PA to the right. Relaxing spot. Seems like locals love walking their dogs up to the park. I would too if I lived right in town. Not a place to go out of your way to see but if your in town, it’s worth a ride up . Love the views and how well kept the trails are. Had a great time with the the family following the very clearly marked trails and was incredibly clean. It was awesome to see the diversity of plant life and organisms along the way. The maps and signage made it easier to navigate and also made it fun for all ages.
