Incredible find while simply driving to covered bridges in the area. Tranquil. Serene. Inspired me to write (I'm a writer) a modern-day hex murder based on the hex murder here. Found Moments: Stone Arch Bridge Park We came across this place called Stone Arch Bridge Park. As you know by now, it's an absolutely gorgeous day here. This bridge was built in 1888, I believe by Swiss immigrants. It's just really pretty here. Slowly pans the camera. What I love about little road trips is that - even though we have a few destinations in mind - you just stumble upon things and go, "Wow, this is really, really cool." So, we're going to have lunch here. Alright everyone, take care. Get out there - adventure awaits. Just get out. Get away from your computer or TV. Grab the one you love, your best friend - whoever - and have an adventure. It's beautiful here. If you're into trout fishing, this would be a great spot. We're at Stone Arch Bridge, near Callicoon, New York, in the Catskills. We're kind of close to the Delaware River, heading toward Livingston - or maybe it's Livingstone. There are a couple of bridges there too. It's just… beautiful. Absolutely, absolutely wonderful. There's a playground here, and it made us think about our daughters - how much they would've loved this when they were little. Oh - there's my wife. Anyway, take care everyone. Seek adventure. Adventure can be right outside your door. You don't have to drive to the mountains or to New York. There's so much life out there. So much to experience, to learn, and to savor - with all your senses. A lot better than watching stuff on a phone. (Even though - you're watching this on a phone. The irony - I get it. Right? Right?) Cheers, people.

Small but enchanting park built around a hand-crafted three-arch stone bridge over Callicoon Creek. Now a grass-lined walkway, the former highway bridge is a lovely sight underlined by the sound of a tiny one-foot waterfall only a hundred feet or so away. The park extends a fair distance northward from the bridge itself and has a hiking trail running its length, but it was muddy with puddles when we visited so we didn't get far before turning around.

Located at the junction of NY Rts 52 & 52A, Stone Arch Bridge is remnant of a bygone era when water crossings in the Catskill Mnts. presented formidable challenges. The single lane bridge (now a walkway) spans Callicoon Creek in three graceful arches. There is a small park with picnic tables, open grassy areas and a childrens' play structure. To get to this bridge take NY52 West out of Jeffersonville, NY or take Rt52 East from Kenoza Lake, NY.

The Stone Arch Bridge Park features a scenic three arched stone bridge is the centerpiece of this 20-acre park. The bridge was originally built in 1880 by Swiss immigrants Henry and Philip Hembt.
