The furthest point east on Long Island and the putative last post of the Hamptons. A short scenic drive from Amagansett, Montauk Point State Park offers a break from the honkytonk tourist monotony that is Montauk itself. It offers a finely kept and maintained lighthouse with ample parking that is free after 6pm which is a great time to watch the sun go down in beautiful surroundings. It’s a good outing that offers a break from the beach life and the chichi shopping of East and Southampton. Highly recommended and worth visiting the light...

I recently visited the Montauk Lighthouse, and it was a great experience. We got there a little early, around 10:15 and had to wait just about 15 minutes before going in. It was a beautiful day, which made the visit even better. The lighthouse and the grounds were very clean and well kept, and the views from the area are absolutely stunning. It’s peaceful, full of history, and a perfect spot for photos. I highly recommend checking it out if...
