Montauk is a beautiful coastal town located at the eastern end of Long Island in New York. It is known for its stunning beaches, world-class surfing, and laid-back atmosphere. One of the most popular attractions in Montauk is Montauk Point Lighthouse, which is the oldest lighthouse in New York State and a National Historic Landmark. Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse for stunning views of the surrounding area. Montauk is also home to several beautiful beaches, including Ditch Plains Beach, which is a popular spot for surfers, and Gin Beach, which offers calm waters and a relaxing atmosphere. In addition to its natural beauty, Montauk has a rich history and is home to several historic sites, including the Second House Museum, which is a restored 18th-century farmhouse, and Camp Hero State Park, which was once a top-secret military installation. Overall, Montauk is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and relaxed vibe of Long Island's eastern end. Please note( Make an inquiry for details. When I'd been there, I couldn't climb to the top of lighthouse coz it was already 4:30pm, Sunday)

What a naturally beautiful park! The light house is relatively cheap- $11 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for children 12 and under. During the on season (April 2nd- October 10) from 8am-4pm, there is an additional parking fee of $8. Don't forget the park closes at sunset. But dont let that stop you, this park also offers a stargazer's permit for $35! The park boasts many attractions, such as, a lighthouse cafe, viewfinders, swings, a beautifully built, large playground, and easy access to public restrooms. There are spectacular views of the ocean, lighthouse, and radar station inside the nearby base from the numerous trails in the park. I would definitely recommend the large rock trail at the bottom of the light house that loops around the point. Also, camp hero, an old military base, offers shelter from the wind and picinic tables for those who prefer to barbeque. But no public access is allowed to the abandoned buildings on site. Overall, this is a breathtaking park for families, photographers, and the adventurous in spirit!

Welcome to "The End." End of Long Island, where the first lighthouse in New York State was built. Commissioned by President George Washington in 1792, it took just five months to build and became a beloved National Historic Landmark two centuries later. While the lighthouse offers 360 degree breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Block Island Sound, it will take you 137 iron steps to reach the top. Far shorter a climb than the Eiffle Tower, but plan enough time to reach the top before closing time. The surrounding park grounds offer plenty. From ideal picnicing spots with a breeze, clean restrooms, and a lovely restaurant with a view, there is also a neat gift shop offering an array of signature souvenirs, handcrafted by artists including wind catchers, jewelry and much more. Looking for a day trip or a weekend getaway, there are nearby camping grounds, motels, historic inns, and more. Come visit our lighthouse, a significant beacon for many fisherman, mariners, the Coast Guard and even the Army!

This place is mentioned in the movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Awesome place but for from new jersey, though it says 3 hours, it will take extra min 1 hour so be prepared to ride 8 hours if you plan for a day trip. This is looks like an island. You can see 280 degrees of sea in the light house corner. Heavily crowded. To reach lighthouse from the entrance took 30 mins (0.5 miles) due to the parking ticket collection. Very lengthy queue in the weekends. But the parking is huge, worth a wait. Place is awesome. There is a museum. Only limited capacity. If you see more than 20 people waiting, then you can skip the museum, otherwise be prepared to wait 1 hour. There was some wedding celebration was going on. Very nice place for local people to have wedding ceremony. Couldn't find a local made ice cream. Had lobster roll in lobster roll and lunch restaurant on the way back home. Find the trekking side side to the museum and enjoy the beach.
