Lovely private, local ski club located in Ellicottville. Holimont is well taken care of and well groomed. The trails are always perfect and powdery. Since there is no night skiing available the snow isn’t super packed down. The staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Since this is a private club it definitely feels like it’s own community and seems very family oriented. When I have gone there aren’t wild and rowdy teens which is a plus.

The good news is that on weekdays anyone can buy a pass to check out this awesome place. You can buy online to get a small discount. I have only gone during the week and there haven’t been serious crowds or lines. I am not sure about the weekends but since it’s members only I’m sure it’s not nearly as busy as some of the other local public resorts.

The lodges are cozy and accommodating. There is now a cafeteria here in the main lodge which has plenty to choose from. You are also free to bring your crockpots or picnic style lunches to enjoy. There are tons of indoor and outdoor seating options, many large grills for anyone to use and a cool fire pit to sit and relax. There are rentals, lessons and a specialty adaptive ski program available.

During covid masks were worn inside and outside and this was enforced by staff. Hand sanitizing stations were set up all over. There was also a large, outdoor, well ventilated tent this year to provide extra seating during covid.

Another fun perk that makes this place unique is there are many gorgeous homes on the hills and around the trails. It’s fun to see them when you are on the lift and skiing...

This is a review on Holimont's bike park 🚲

Visited Holimont for the first time on 7/9/22 to do some DH mountain biking. The trails are fantastic - extremely well built, maintained and with a decent variety between mild tech and flow. Canfield Funnel is one of the funnest trails I've ridden in the greater Western NY area. Lots of tabletops, perfectly built berms, and drops. It's a must ride when visiting! Enduro is equally fun and much like Canfield but with a tad more tech. Newts tail is the newest trail and is a fairly serious DH-best for high end intermediate riders and up. There is a small skills area at the base with three different sized drops and tabletop jumps, a rock garden, loop with berms and several skinnies to practice your skills on. Late this past summer(2022) they finally added several additional bike carriers, so the wait in the lift line isn't as excruciating. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

They hold several events over the season and truly go out of their way to make this a mtb destination in Western NY. Loud performance usually has a trailer on site if you need to rent a bike, helmet or buy new gear. If you like mtbing and are curious about getting into downhill riding, this is the perfect place to ride. It's so much fun that we visited almost every weekend during August and September - and we have to drive almost two hours to get there.
