Perrine’s Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge located in Ulster County,NY. It is the second oldest covered bridge in NY State. The bridge is named for James Perrine who owned a tavern/hotel near the bridge. The bridge is 154 feet long and incorporates a Burr arch design. If you go to the bridge there are a few parking spots nearby. After parking it is easy to walk across the bridge and view its surroundings. Unfortunately, there is some graffiti on the inside of the bridge. Hopefully, this can be cleaned up to give it a better look. Still it is nice to walk across and enjoy the historic nature of the bridge. The bridge is also visible from the NY State Thruway and is between mile markers 81 and 82. Overall, this is worth a visit. Stop by and see it.

I visited the bridge on Wednesday September 18, 2019. I was staying at a hotel outside New Paltz and I noticed this bridge's location on a New York State map. I drove up Route 32 from New Paltz and the bridge was easy to find. I enjoyed taking pictures of this historic bridge. I also took pictures of the red steel bridge that crosses the Wallkill River on Route 32. The covered bridge is closed to traffic and is in good shape. Unfortunately there is a lot of graffiti inside the bridge. Why people do that I'll never know. Perrine's Bridge is a nice photo stop if you're in the New Paltz area.

Breathtaking! This bridge is over 200 years old. Veey well preserved. Esopus is an adorable town. We stopped further down the road where there is a power plant and saw a gorgeous waterfall over a rock formation. It was worth the drive from Yonkers, NY. My 10 year-old son was ecstatic.

A nice covered bridge. If I recall correctly, it had a restoration project years back to help preserve it, allowing for the good condition it is in today. Perrine's Bridge is located in an easy to get to spot. Being not far off Rt32 north of New Paltz, near Tillson and actually located on Rt213. It's not hard to find. Tillson, Rosendale, then Kinston are to the north on Rt32. There is a nice area to relax and enjoy a break watching the Wallkill River flow by this nice old bridge. You cannot drive across this bridge, but can walk in. The Wallkill River itself is unique being it is a rare river that flows from south to north. There can be noise from traffic since the NY state thruway is right there towering over this little bridge. But not overly noisy. Perrines Bridge is not my favorite covered bridge, but is a nice example of a cover bridge to visit. All in all a nice place to stop or to be a...
