Update 2024 - from 4 stars to 5. We went back on Labor Day this year and the service couldn’t be better, on par with their products. Our requests were accommodated with great customer service. We gave all the establishments another try and every single staff member went above and beyond.
This is a great place where you can experience several wineries in one location. Each winery has a very different vibe and is fun in its own unique way. They have a broad selection of wines to cater to every taste, we prefer the sweeter wines and had more than plenty to choose from. This year was my second year visiting and much like last year, the service is spotty.
I'll start with last year's experience, we are a group of 2-3 couples that do our own "tours". In our previous experience, some wineries let you have your own snacks. Unaware that this is not allowed at the winery, one of the couples in our group brought some snacks. I don't remember seeing signs discouraging patrons from doing this but we clearly made a mistake. We weren't trying to get away with anything, we weren't hiding the food, we simply made an error. Once a staff member saw us eating, she rudely went to our table and yelled at us. Voice raised and everything. We apologized and stopped eating, but this could've been handled better. It ruined our experience and we decided to finish the tastings but did not purchase anything from the remaining establishments.
This year, fully aware of their policy, we decided to go back. The views are beautiful and the wine is very good. At Stony Lonesome the service is always fantastic. We usually get our flight and enjoy it on the chairs by the vineyard. Up next was Passion Feet. The layout changed a bit giving us a cozier experience which was very nice. After that, we walked over to Bagg Dare, which was under repair/construction last year. This was a really neat part of the estate, it is made to look like a antique junkyard/car repair shop complete with a swamp. The wait was quite a bit longer than the first two, the first server seemed overwhelmed and a bit short when I was trying to figure out how to go about taking our flight down to the adirondack chairs by the swamp. A bit later a very polite server came and checked on us.
Our last stop was War Horse Brewing. We walked in, looked around a bit for some direction and got nothing. We noticed servers going to tables, so we figured we would sit down and try to figure out what our next step was. When we sat down, a server went to the table next to us to check how they were doing and completely ignored us. No eye contact, no greeting, nothing. I got up and went to the counter and finally was served our flights. No one checked to see how we were doing throughout our tasting, this was a different experience from the first two. I was turned off immediately and ready to go.
If we come back, I think the only tasting we would do is at Stony Lonesome. For whatever reason, the staff there is always on point. The service, the view and the...
Read moreIt’s like Disneyland for adults who like wine and beer. Located on a gorgeous property this is a destination you will want to block out at least 2 hours for if you want to do the pass and not a single tasting, single tasting meaning only 1/ 4 stops. There are 3 separate wineries and a brewery here, each counts as a separate place. The best deal is $40 for 1 flight at each stop/ 5 samples a flight for a total of 20 samples. You can share this with someone else and you get a discount on any products purchased at the end of your visit. There is also an option for a single flight at one location for $15 which is a total of 5 samples.
Each location has its own vibe and selection of products. We chose to try the pass since we would be splitting it and we wanted to see what Three Brothers had to offer since it was our first visit. They gave us a map and a booklet to help navigate the property and to take notes of what we liked. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating at each location. -Stony Lonesome- to me this was the best, it felt The most upscale, the wines were dry and chocolate pairings were available for purchase. -Passion Feet Wine Barn- casual and fun, wines were semi dry to sweet. We chose to try the wine seltzer’s which were good but also on the sweeter side. Wine slushees available here for an additional fee. -Bagg Dare Wine- the most fun location, it looks like a pirate hideaway on a bayou. The wines were very sweet, not for me but nice to try. There was an option here for less samples and drier wines but we wanted to get the full experience of the vineyard. -Warhorse Brewing Company- very cool and industrial looking in design. All kinds of craft beers and hard ciders available here. I liked trying some hard ciders varieties and my significant other enjoyed the beer enough to take some home.
A self service carry out cafe here has food available. We didn’t try any on this visit. Its very casual here and you roam around and go where you wish based on available space. We were lucky that it wasn’t busy and we happened to come early so we had our choice. It does get busy so a reservation isn’t a bad idea especially on a weekend. We witnessed this when we tried to come a year ago and it was a madhouse during covid. We decided it wasn’t for us and left.
The staff was friendly and helpful but this is a big place that gets through crowds quickly so they are pushing to serve as many people as possible. When comparing to other wineries it’s not as personal of service, for example you need to choose all your samples at once and they are served in test tubes. I get why but it’s not the same upscale experience as some competitors. With this service model you also can’t taste and and then get suggestions from an employee who really knows the products for your next choices. Regardless we enjoyed our time here and would come back.
We both found things we liked and enjoyed our visit. It’s definitely worth a try but I’d suggest...
Read moreThree Brothers is a really cool space - makes a great spot for a bachelorette or group get together. The "campus" has a few separated buildings that offer three wineries and a brewery, as well as an onsite cafe that offers burgers, fries, and pretzels. The wines were mediocre at best. We did the "shared tasting" where you basically get a tasting at each building, shared between two people. Pricing was reasonable. We started in the Passion Feet Wine space, which was really lovely, feminine, and fun with cozy couches to sit on and colorful artwork. Our tasting included 5 wines in test tubes and a "wine slushie" in a plastic cup. These wines were ok, I think we liked 2/5 and the slushie was sweet, but refreshing on a hot day. We next walked over to the Stony Lonesome Cellars space, which was more of a traditional tasting room space with beautiful views and both outdoor and indoor seating options. Again we received a tasting of wines in test tubes and sadly, every single one of the wines was completely undrinkable. These wines were honestly just awful. I asked for a glass of water that never came and the wines were delivered with no explanation or time taken to discuss them. One silver lining was that inside, there was a beautiful case of chocolate truffles. We did purchase some to take home. It would have been great to see a truffle and wine pairing offered, but if there was, it was not noted anywhere on the menus we were given, nor offered by the person taking our order. We then went into the space currently being used by the Bagg Dare Wine Company (the original space burned down, so they are using a "hangar" temporarily). The wines were served in tiny plastic shot glasses, again not explained at all by the staff and were honestly just not good. For wine to be served in test tubes and tiny shot glasses, I'm not sure how you're expected to smell, swirl, and appreciate the wine... We next went into the brewery. They have quite a large selection of beers and ciders available. Our tasting was served in small plastic cups and the beers were not bad. We were again a bit disappointed in the service (staff brought over the flight again with no explanation and never came back again to check in), but it was getting close to closing time, so we understand they were busy cleaning up. We ordered fries and a pretzel from the cafe, both were tasty. Overall, this space is fun and gimmicky and a cool space to hang out (or to grab a beer and a burger), but if you're looking for great wine,...
