From the moment you pull onto the property at Zugibe you're surrounded by beauty. Rows of magnificent grapes line the property as you turn onto the driveway headed towards the absolutely stunning and elegant yet very "Finger Lakes rustic" style main building. Parking just to the left of the entrance allows you to take in the expansive view of the property and the north - east end of Seneca Lake.
As you enter the winery, the majestic double doors welcome you into an era and an experience you don't find in other FLX wineries. Attention to detail, in every aspect of the building is evident, from the vaulted ceilings to the French doors leading out to the main porch, facing the south west with breathtaking views of the grounds and lake below. Directly to the north west is an ample firepit that is utilized on appropriate occasions as well as the pavilion which houses live music as scheduled throughout the summer season. To the south east, you will often find wedding and event venue space occupied by a simple yet elegant event tent.
Ample outdoor seating for both relaxing with a glass of the most perfect Pinot Gris found in all of the FLX (or in this reviewers opinion the US), or take up a table to enjoy some of the most mouthwatering authentic Lebanese cuisine north of New York City. Sit and enjoy the crooning of singers and musicians as the sun sets with perfect timing over hillsides enveloping the most mysterious and alluring of the famous Finger Lakes.
With a very impressive and variety rich selection of wines, including hard-to-find-in-the-FLX, DRY wines there is something for every palate and every level of wine connoisseur as well as select offerings of local breweries. If wine's not your thing, but a juicy hazy IPA is more your style, grab a cold one, an order of the finger licking worthy Z-Fries, pull up chair on the veranda and enjoy the afternoon or evening.
Five stars, as if that...
Read moreAttempted to go to Zugibe Vineyards twice now over the past year for a birthday. The first time they were getting done with flights before we got there, no big deal. When we saw their market table at the Roc Holiday Village we told them what happened and they gave us complimentary free flight slips to use when we return due to our experience, which was very much appreciated. Prior to the 2nd attempt to go back for the birthday a year later with other people we made sure we would be there on time before end of flight service. We pulled in and walked in at 3:03pm and the server informs us there is a wedding going on later and flight service is over but we can get a glass but they are closing an hour early at 4pm. No where on their website, facebook, or instagram did they state they were closing early for a wedding on September 3rd. This was an hour drive for us out to Zugibe to be told this. We would have been out before 4pm with a flight anyways, this was our first stop of the afternoon-evening. I recommend calling this place ahead to make sure they will be open if you are making a drive out there. We spent the rest of the evening across the road at a different winery since they could not accommodate us for 35-40 minutes. What is the difference between sitting there with a flight for 35 minutes vs a glass? 3 stars for the wine I did taste at the Roc Holiday Village, a bottle, and the service we received there vs the service at the...

The only good thing we found was the view, but we weren’t allowed to enjoy it while doing a tasting as you could not leave the bar. The servers are all friendly but young. We didn’t find the wine to be good. My friend who will drink almost anything didn’t even like their wine and dumped most of her glasses. The other issue was it was soooo loud. They had about 3-4 bachelorette parties hanging out. You felt like you were at a college bar crawl. And you weren’t allowed to leave the crowded bar if you wanted to do a tasting.
Edit to reply-I actually don’t prefer sweet wines. But thank you for making the suggestion :) I did adjust my comments to be on the kinder side as I realize they come across as harsh. I appreciate the fact that people are attempting to find people to work. I didn’t feel that the amount of help was an issue-they had a lot of help. It was still very...
