Came here for a beach day with the family a couple days ago. Overall, I was very impressed for being a State Park Beach. The beach sand was very clean, there is a nice little playground for kids to play at, plenty of picnic tables, a Concession Stand and bathrooms. We had to pay for a WI State Park Day Pass. If you have the state park sticker, it will be free to enter. The water was also so clear! I am used to the Chicago beaches (garbage everywhere and the water is cloudy/dirty). Here you could see the bottom of the sand in the swimming area. Parking was very easy at the lot. We got to the beach parking lot around 9:30/10am, went for a quick walk to Eagle Bluff Lighthouse and back, and then grabbed our beach stuff and set up shop. By the time we got back from our walk, the parking lot was already filled up (we were gone for about 45min). Definitely recommend getting there early! Overall, it was a great find! We will...
Read moreHow can you even rate such a nice beach? This beach is so beautiful. The water is cold and refreshing. We've been taking our daughter here for years, that is when you can actually get a campsite, which is not every year but we try. Horseshoe Island is in the distance as a nice swimming backdrop. All the folks with the big fancy yachts park off in the distance and it's really pretty. Nice spot for a sunset. The store at the beach has everything you need. Great merch, swimwear, floaties, ice cream, other snacks. In the summer they even have food trucks near here. They have rentals, everything you need in case you forgot everything. Nice playground and changing rooms. No rocks in the sand! Have fun, you won't be let down. Oh and by the way, you might have to walk a ways or get there early in the day, the parking lot fills up early in the morning and stays that way all day, especially on the weekends...
Read moreThis is a nice beach within the Peninsula State Park. You need to have a park pass to enter the park and when we were there the beach was very busy. It was nearly impossible to keep a 6 ft distance between people on the beach. We decided to keep our things far away from the beach, near the parking lot, and float out far from others. There is a nice place to rent kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and other small boats. Overall it's a nice place to be, but...
