This is our 2nd year up to see the Northern Sky musicals. This year we saw the two new ones, "Dairy Heirs" and "Boxcar". Last year, they wowed us at the musicals we saw and this year was no different. Very talented and real actors that come out after the play and sit around a campfire answering questions and having a sing-along. Very reasonable show prices and campers get a sizable discount. This is inside Peninsula State Park, but you don't need a park pass to see a show if that's all your in there for. This is top notch entertainment and is appropriate for the whole family. The plays are done in an outside theater in with the tall pine trees. All the plays tell a story from around the area. They are moving and parts are very funny. The singing and playing (sometimes with the actors with instruments on stage} is excellent. Beautiful harmonies. If your in the are, you owe it to...
Read moreThis is going to be the most unusual theatre review you've possibly heard, but it's all true! I have had a minor back injury for the past week, strained a major muscle in my lower back. Although it's not permanent or critical, y'all know how long a muscle strain can take to heal, and how much back pain can affect our days and nights! Last evening I had the pleasure of attending the production of Sunflowered. Anything to do with this group is a love-fest in the best way, and this musical takes it next level. Laughing, crying, singing along.... I can't tell you what to do... but GO!!! After the show I got up from my seat and for the first time in 7 days, NO PAIN. Explanation...? The quantum healing energy of LOVE, ART and MUSIC. Just go. You will...
Read moreI love attending the theater at the Park. So much fun for so many seasons past. Thanks for the fun. However, "Something in the Water" was by far the least enjoyable show we have ever seen produce by Northern Sky Theater including when it was known as American Folklore Theater. Also, even if it was in jest, saying that tourist are rude as a joke went over like a lead balloon. There was even an audible "GASP" clearly heard through the silence of disbelief. I'll give you a 3 star rating mostly because of you wonderful past history of great productions. But, if asked, I would direct prospects to some of the past shows and to...
