I took a metalsmithing class here. While I learned a lot and love my pieces, the teacher did most of the work of the students and did not allow students to freely get materials and work independently. Most students spent several hours waiting to have the teacher get materials. The teacher did so much of the process. I want my own pieces not the teacher's pieces. Please let students access all materials at their convenience and don't do the work for them. Explain the purpose of the tools and show students where specifically they are in the cabinets. Change your expectations for students, bring your own work to demo, and suggest students bring their own materials to make pieces including silver, brass and copper, not just stones. I will be coming back for more after a few wonderful experiences and the talented instructors they bring in Sarah Mann, Susan Richter-O'Connell, Melis Agabigum, and others.
