This is a great nature preserve. There is a lot to see and the terrain is very diverse. With that being said, it can be very steep and also very muddy so travel cautiously and consider the abilities of those in your group. There are a few spots in which the trail is a bit washed out and you are on the edge of a slope. Much of the hiking trails are either along the edge of the creek or up on the ridge. There a many chipmunks to see, toads, crayfish, and deer prints in the mud. The falls are both cools but the third falls is a pretty good distance from the parking lot so you would need to plan to bring some provisions.

A couple of years ago I barely got in when a tic landed on me, so I ended up turning around shortly after. But today I decided to go, at a different time of year, more prepared and I had a great time. Parking was easy. There were a few muddy spots but not many. Sometimes I had trouble finding the next trail marker but I knew it had to be somewhere close so I made sure to not go to far until I saw one. There are some steep areas but I did not get out of breath at all which happens to me often. Many chipmunks! :-) I could not believe these views were just a few minutes from my home.

Great place for a nice three mile hike. Kid friendly, but not stroller friendly. Dog friendly. I use Verizon and had cell service the whole time, which is nice in case of emergency. (Or for playing Pokemon Go, there was a nest of Charmanders while I was there.) There is a parking lot. The only negative I can think of is that many people know about it, so the trails can get a little crowded.

I explore nature preserves most weekends, and this place is by far my favorite find! Much larger of an area than you expect, this remarkable nature preserve can occupy you for an entire day! Beautiful stair cases bring you down from the high ground where you enter the preserve, to the lovely creek below. A sturdy bridge allows you to cross the creek and find many trailways. The off-putting steep trail brings you up a large hill where you can find tall magnificent trees. Continue to wander the hillside, and a trail will bring you back down to the creek where you can follow creekside on a hot day to help stay cool. Wide, but small waterfalls can be found on this section of the creek, where you can walk right up to them. Very peaceful. An explorers paradise. Inexperienced hikers use caution, the steep hills and tight paths can be...

I've had the lovely opportunity to traverse the Indian kill loops many times over the course of 37years and its quite beautiful and can be good fishing. But I caution any how decides to hike it when wet, it can very slippery and even dangerous. Foot ware should have deep treads, even a walking stick is a good idea I have accessed the kill from the Indian meadows park , trail start over by the soccer fields at the edge of the park that's a nice walk and very serene trex. The park can be very risky in lower temp with ice an snow. Hike wisely and wear proper attire.the lower trails are the best for light hike upper trails towards the falls is alot more difficult and requires alot more stamina and...
