Gorgeous, delicious, and amazing. I can only say good things about Catharine Valley Winery. I came by with a group of 30 of my grad school friends to celebrate a birthday (please make a reservation if you have a big group, they don't usually have so many people there) and we all had so much fun. Since we had so many people, we bought a wide variety of bottles of wine and were able to sample and share them among our group. They were all so delicious. Not only is the wine amazing, but the view is to breathtaking. There is a perfect view of Seneca Lake a few miles north of Watkins Glen and the way the sun glints off the water and the cool breeze that comes off the lake creates a very peaceful ambiance. I will definitely be back soon.

This was our first stop on our wine trail tour. We had a very nice experience here. The wine was good, the server was friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and the area, the inside of the building was cute, the outside had great views of the lake. They are doing some renovating so they are obviously investing in the place. We will definitely come here again the next time we visit.

Catherine Valley was a good stop for us. It didn't stand out like some others for us. The view is one of its better features. This winery has been around for some time and is starting to show it's age a bit. Generally nice, but some improvements would enhance the experience (i.e.: great stuff plugging holes etc.).

I went here with a small group- just myself, my sister and her husband. So no- we were not a big group of annoying, young drunk people. The price was $5 per tasting, which is as high as it gets in the area. I would be fine with the tasting price if the wine was actually of good quality. However, it was really bad! We knew as soon as we looked at the list of wines that we were in trouble. No standard 'Merlot' or 'Cabernet', all silly names for the wine. Even despite the crappy wine, we could have come out with a positive experience had the staff been fun. However, the girl who waited on us was miserable and barely spoke two words to us. She was blatantly hostile to us and clearly poured huge tastes for the other patrons, while giving us the tiniest tastes possible. Fine- because we really didn't want any more of the crappy wine; but offensive to be treated differently for no reason! Would never go back here! Don't waste your...

I went here as part of a group. After we got out of the bus, the proprietor marched toward us screaming and ordering us to “go back to your transportation.” He then boarded the bus to enumerate the “rules” of the vineyard, which were also posted conspicuously by the bar. He loves his rules. A lot. Other weirdnesses: he subsequently insisted that our group must leave his property by 5:00 sharp. We were promised a food truck, but instead we were provided with Doritos and crackers. I don’t know whether our organizers were charged the infamous surprise “cleanup fee” (I’m betting yes on the basis of other reviews), but it is worth pointing out that there was only one wastebasket that I could locate on the premises. It is astounding this place is still in business. One star for next...

This location would of got 5 stars but for the total ignorance of one of the waitresses. She didn't wear a name badge as I would of named her. However she was the only lady in a pink t-shirt. Never in our lifetime visiting a restaurant have we had experienced this. Started well with her taking our order then when she served our food she put the plates as far away from us as she could....... I'm not lazy but usually I get my food placed in front of me. Wasn't sure if she was going to add something more we waited awhile. Nothing happened she just walked off. Put us of our food which was not that great. Anyway the wine tasting was very good and the kind lady was helpful an friendly. Hope the server/waitress gets some training on how to give the customers...
