Fun and challenging out-and-back. Least-well-marked NY trail I've encountered, 2.5 hours to get to the "top" for the spectacular view shown. If you go out too close to dusk in spring/fall, your descent will be nearly pitch black through the poorly-marked woods. crosses ravines and requires climbing over/around a few rocks. Not a beginning course, but very rewarding. Coyotes heard through the dark during descent but not seen. View from top is...

This was a nice hike. The views at the top were beautiful. You can see the Hudson in the background! The creek we saw mid-hike was a nice, peaceful place to relax.

Be extremely careful with parking, especially on busier weekends. We, along with four other vehicles, were towed for parking in a no parking zone. Read all the signs, and move on or wait for another car to pull out if you are unsure! The Town of Hunter charges a fortune to get...

Nice forested trail with a stunning view at the end! Pretty steep ups and downs at points but all in all quite moderate. Absolutely worth it.

FYI: the trail isn't marked that clearly from the parking lot to where the Huckleberry Trailhead veers off from the Long Path -- bring a map or screenshot of the trail just in case you find yourself second guessing at times and always look out for the...
