Disappointing season so far, I enjoyed hunter last year but have to give it a 2 star this year, a huge mess.

45 minute wait to pickup tickets (which you can't avoid for 6 year and younger tickets since it's not available online) Insanely long lines with people cutting very frequently (was line cut about 6 times in a day) badly trained and understaffed personel. Saw a kid get hurt because no one was there to press a stop button. Waited 25 minutes at a lift being at full stop because no one could fix it. Learning center building has no sitting spots which makes it extremely hard having to prepare 3 kids or take breaks with 3 kids. The beginners are the ones needing the most resting spots. Dinning area requiring reservations (hard to plan with kids and very long lift lines).

If you are just adults skiing this might be an okay mountain (there aren't that many trails even with the entire mountain, but still fun). But highly not recommend for families, absolutely not worth the money, there are many much better...

Not covid safe. The management of Hunter mountain doesn’t take covid seriously. Today on our visit we got on the shuttle bus and both times people weren’t wearing masks - nor were they asked to. We saw customers inside the indoor food areas not wearing masks. The lift lines, being outdoors, are less on an issue but again nobody was even trying to enforce distancing or mask wearing. It’s not fair for those who are trying to live by the rules for everyone’s safety and well-being. This is after making such a fuss about implementing a painful reservation system for ā€˜everyone’s safety’. The most annoying observation is that no Hunter/Vail employee was trying to get anyone to follow these rules. If people wouldn’t do as asked that’s one thing but it appeared like the employees couldn’t care less and just turned a blind eye.

Having gone to other Vail Resorts locations in VT (Okemo, Stowe) who had got it right it was so disappointing to see the nearest location to NYC acting...

I have been coming here for 15+ years. My recent trip was by far the worst. We stayed the weekend and visited the mountain 3 days in a row. I can't fault them for lack of winter weather, but trails were open that probably should not have been open. And the grooming was just not good. The absolute worst day was the tubing. It's only 4 lanes and only 3 were open. The line was very long and the staff was moving in slow motion. My kids were bored out of there mind and begging to leave after the first run. I didn't want to waste the money spent so I forced them to stay. We only got 3 runs in for the 2hrs we were there. They are not fast and you need to sit and wait for someone to push you down unlike others where you can sit and go down yourself. Needless to say I will never do that again. I dont like to complain but with the pricing being what it is now they really need to elevate the experience for their guest, otherwise, it's simply not...
