SYJCC — Attraction in Town of Huntington

i'm a member for over 20 years and have consistently been pleased and impressed with their 'hamisha' way and the facilities; especially the olympic sized pool.

swimming laps while listening to my underwater mp3 player, jumping into the whirlpool, steam room (very few facilities on long island maintain one........very expensive to do so), the sauna, state of the art locker room and oh yes, the 10th of a mile walking track above the huge basketball courts. the gym is also very well appointed and large with the state of the art equipment and lots of assistance from professional trainers and 'spotters'.

i think the people who wrote those negative reviews should manage their expectations and appreciate value and quality

and............aarp supplemental health care plan pays for my membership (and my wife's), as long as we go once a week; and you certainly can't beat free membership

but it was a bargain at $40 a month prior to...

might be the worst worst experience at any gym i’ve ever been apart of. first of all, $70 a month? talk about an absolute astronomical number attached to literally ZERO value. Want to literally waste your money month after month? Then this is the place for you. Do you enjoy getting off of a 10 hour shift just to hear children screaming and not being to do what you signed up to do? Then look no further, the SYJCC is here for you. Not only do they not let THEIR CUSTOMERS use their facilities but they double book their facilities to outsiders who DON’T pay a monthly fee, leaving their actual members with nothing…. 8 people to 2 pickle ball nets when there is more than 12 basketball hoops that could have 4-6 ppl playing each. Makes no sense and I can see so clearly that they just want money and do not prioritize their customers…. 1/10 ABSOLUTE TRASH…. And the gym director doesn’t work, literally...

We've been members for several years and always enjoyed the summer camp experince, the pool & swimming lessons, the winter farmers market. However, my husband & son were there a couple of weeks ago and their locker lock was cut and money stolen out of my husband's wallet. He called the police who came out to take a report. The manager of the facility didn't come out to talk to either my husband or the police. (We haven't heard a word from anyone from the Suffolk Y JCC.)
