The Huntington Closet & Cabinet Company — Attraction in Town of Huntington

I went with Huntington Closet at the recommendation of our contractor. Since all of his recommendations worked out very well, I just went with them without vetting any other company. That’s my fault. 12 of my closets were done. I had a slight issue with a linen closet (shallow shelving - can’t fit many towels) and a major issue with the pantry. I wanted L shaped shelves. I did approve the design and signed the contract. When given the plans, you see a 2D version of it. Looks great! I was never offered a 3D version of our plans. If I had seen it, I never would have approved the pantry design. I consider myself educated but I didn’t realize I had to examine the plans and measure everything on my own before approving it. I ended up with what looks like ikea cabinets thrown in there. No L shaped shelves, no fillers. According to Huntington Closets, L shaped shelves are more expensive and not really something they like to do because in the end , they don’t get much for it.

The pantry has a slight angle in the wall and they were not able to accommodate that space well. I was told a filler could be used. Except none were used. Once the closets were installed, I contacted the company right away. Their response was that they could only fix half of it (not by the angled wall) with an ADDED COST. If I was going to pay them again and they couldn’t re do the entire pantry, why use them again? I also inquired about removing the shelving so it could be re-done. Well, thats $250 per hour. There is absolutely no “make it right” policy or mentality. We are so disappointed with their policy that we would never recommend them. We will be having another closet company come and re do it.

During the consult with a second company, they mentioned the pantry wasn’t even installed correctly. The shelving of the pantry is removable. The bottom shelf is removable and not secure. That bottom shelf is supposed to be screwed in for stability. there is no stability for the bottom of our pantry. The bottom piece of our pantry moves side to side! Over time, it would begin to bend.

The 10 other closets seemed to come out okay. It would have been nice if they “made it right” but I highly doubt they’d do that.

Excellent customer service and installation from start to finish. Our designer, Erin, was AMAZING! From the very beginning she asked us our budget and our vision and she worked diligently to design exactly what we wanted within our budget. After coming to our house to view the closet space, she listened to our feedback on what we wanted and she added some really great recommendations. It was clear that she had a great design eye and was extremely knowledgeable. She was very responsive in providing us the designs and patient with us on some revisions we requested.
