The Mills Mansion is both a beautiful and breathtaking Beaux-Arts style stately home and also a prominent historic house museum that is located at Staasburg, New York.
When visiting Staasburg in October of 202I, brought and treated my wife and myself for a guided tour of the Mills Mansion.
During our tour, my wife and I were immediately captivated by the mansion’s dining room, the home’s numerous furnishings which includes silk fabrics, exquisite tapestries, and a collection of fine art objects which emanated from Asia and Ancient Greece.
Our tour guide did a great job on highlighting the home’s architectural features and modern day amenities .
Our guide also explained the rich history of the mansion by acknowledging the prominent individuals that one resided there, such as Ruth Livingston Mills, a member of the renowned Livingston family, & her spouse, Ogden Mills a successful financier and philanthropist. Our guide discussed and showcased how the house was occupied and used during the early 20th century.

Every corner exuded luxury, adorned with original or meticulously reproduced artifacts, from velvet curtains to oriental rugs, and gilded furniture to porcelain dinnerware. Our knowledgeable tour guide, Don, brought the mansion to life, sharing captivating anecdotes about its former residents. A visit here is an absolute must, deserving a perfect rating...

The curious can still find an old Carriage House and Homestead abandoned in the woods, as well as a dilapidated Mansion which was previously accessible. This local favorite has recently become fenced off, however, and is now under...
