The famous instagram location for New Yorkers. There are different Routes you can try the loop trail is about 10 miles which has moderate to difficult hiking, Most of the people just treck on the main trail and come back on the same after seeing just the Indian trail this trail is almost 6 miles. If you like the Scenic view then you should try "Grill Brook trail" before you decide to head to this trail just remember that this is not going to be easy hiking till Indian head point but the views are really worth putting the efforts, you will hike next to the river, you will see many small waterfalls. I think hiking up till the Indian Head would be easier from this trail, from the normal route you might have to do steep hiking and Grill Brook can avoid steep hike at once, you gradually hike up in small parts. As there are many pictures here, you will see an astonishing vew from the Indian Head point. We visited in Summer where rain was due for the day, the clouds hovering over mountains were just like icing on the cake. Must visit place of Adirondacks.

As this whole places is private, Govt can't make restrooms or any such facilities, even while being this, they have arranged people to ensure the safety of the hikers, which is really...

I did the 46er a long time ago, I love Dax, it feels like home, but I never managed to do 2 things - Indian Head and Haigh Falls George. Today I decided to take a walk and finally went to the Indian. I went to the West Trial. River to go to the 2nd waterfalls that I like - bevwr medow and rainbow. I admit that bever impresses me more in the summer! It's a nice winter and this hiking was epic - we have beautiful fresh snow, weather and views!!! The views from the Indians are breathtaking!!!! If I manage to make a reservation, I would like to go there in the fall... the route is not demanding, I didn't use snowshoes, but someone "cleared it out". The trail to the top is ahead of me. I was supposed to go back to the East River Trial, but I got hungry and I was thinking about it all day long. soup. But more on that in the next episode... I highly...

This is one of the best hikes in the area. 11-12 mile (18-20km) when you start on the gill Brook trail, hike up to indian head overlook, walk down to the dam, cross the bridge to see rainbow falls, take that trail to the West river trail & then make your way to Lake Road til you get back to the car park.

It can be done in 4-5 hours with a 30 min break at the overlook. I would recommend to spend extra 40-50 minutes to see Rainbow falls. Views from the top are amazing. Some people didn’t like the fact that you have to walk through a private property ( golf course) but it wasn’t too bad. Trail itself is nice and filled with beautiful rivers, waterfalls , plants etc. wear good hiking shoes as the trail can get muddy and slippery. I would go back again. Don’t forget you have to make a reservation from may 1st to...
