This is a great Lake for a day of swimming with the family. Much easier than going to an ocean beach. Plenty of room to spread out and you don't have to worry about big waves and currents. They also have boat rentals so you can row around the lake. Be careful walking...there are alot of big rocks on the beach so it's easy to stub your toe. The are also good facilities- bathrooms, changing rooms, outdoor shower, etc. The food/cafe is reasonably priced. We got the fries (good) chicken tenders and chicken sandwich...they are processed chicken. Not real white meat. Get there early on peak days. The parking lot can fill up and they will close...
Read moreThe lake is beautiful and accessible by car. The facilities are wonderful and clean. The lake is fresh and kids have a blast playing in the sand. It's great when there's no lifeguards because the kids can actually play in the water and it wouldn't be too crowded. Some years they do have lifeguards and there's a lot of congestion. What I'm trying to say is, when there's lifeguards the kids are restricted to 4 ft of water space and if the beach is crowded there are too many kids there to swim with your child and enjoy it.
