1st time visiting this place, I found this place my accident checking Google maps. To begin parking area is very small fits maybe 10 cars so keep that in mind. There's no rest rooms available so plan accordingly, there's no fee to visit. The hike to the tower is all uphill so brace yourself good thing is the incline not too steep. Depending on your walking speed hike up can take 13-20 minutes, it's less than a mile. I took me 13 to hike up and 10 minutes to come back down. Definitely take your time once you start walking up the step of the tower not a place where you want to get hurt. Once you reach the very top the views are absolutely beautiful Definitely worth the hike. Absolutely peaceful once you're up there, mountains and lakes in each direction you look. You almost don't want to come down due to how gorgeous and relaxing to be up there. Fyi there were a few bees but if you Don't mess with them they'll leave you alone. Also keep in mind cell service is not the best in the area, but overall I definitely enjoyed my experience there and reccomend anyone to visit you won't regret it.

For the intrepid few who make the climb up Ninham Mountain, its Fire Tower is another welcome challenge. At the base are antennae and power lines, along with encouraging graffiti on a rock. To every steep step leading upwards is a plaque with the names of individuals and local organizations which presumably had/have some role in the fire tower's creation and maintenance. More graffiti at the summit (of a ruder nature), but the view is sublime. On colder days nothing shields hikers from strong gusts of wind, so dress accordingly. Also careful with the handrails since the wire netting can snag one's skin or gloves.

Generally, a really short and easy hike for an amazing view of the lower Hudson valley. Even in a foggy, wet weekend morning, the experience of elevating in the face of wind and precipitation. Highly recommended for beginners. If you're afraid of heights, this may not be your favorite experience.

Great place to view the autumn foliage. A nice hike with the family. The fire tower has amazing views. Our 9 year olds didn't make it past the 3 flight of stairs. A long flight up , not for the faint of heart. But so worth the view when you get to the top.

A great (short) walk in the woods that leads to the fire tower. Definitely family friendly and not difficult at all to get to. The “hike” to the fire tower is around 1/2 miles from the dirt parking lot. I’ve gone many times and have rarely run into others.

Great place to take a walk and bring your pets with you. Nothing strenuous. Adventure seekers love to climb the tower, but we just stayed at the base and enjoyed the view. Keep your shoes on because there are broken pieces of glass around.
