*My review is based on just this experience and not with the rest of the park. I had inquired about having my wedding here at the pergola and shelter 2/pavilion. The pergola is over grown with weeds, the pavilion has algae growth, graffiti, and tables that are so incredibly rotted through, I'm amazed that they are still standing. With a price tag of $400 I figured they would clean up the place a bit but when I inquired about this, the woman told me they would be doing NOTHING and that the tables could be stacked up in the corner of the pavilion. She also would not permit us to come in and clean it ourselves. I am shocked at the lack of concern she showed for her establishment and I wish there was someone else to speak to about this and hopefully make it work for both myself and James...

Came here to geocache a month ago and this place just feels... Off

4/6 of the basketball hoops have had the hoop part removed, buildings that appear in rough shape, hiking trails that bring you to one parking lot to another. Speaking of parking lots there are a lot of them, mostly empty too. The trailheads all seem split apart from each other and whoever placed the geocaches here did so in a way that has no flow to it navigation wise. This place just looks like it has nothing to do or see.

I can't speak for the golf, maybe this place is great for golf. And maybe it's not bad for organizing huge events. As for anything else it feels kinda deserted.

Ps; There was a guy who kept hanging around somewhere I stopped to look around for a geocache and was watching me....

Not too bad of a park good size yes i will agree on. I think the directions and some signs to where the hiking trails are would be nice. if you go straight down to the field and past the restraunt like I did your in the wrong place. at the stop sign take a right and before you hit the gold course park their a map you will see and some history. trails are red, blue, yellow you can not see them unless you go across the road. the red trail and blue i did was very challenging since i mountain biked it not easy very rocky and muddy boggy. I don't suggest riding it unless your a pro-rider. not much for views sady their is a nice bench chair further up but more...

In Dutchess County's geographic center, conveniently accessed from the Taconic Parkway to the east and County Route 47 to the west. Features basketball and tennis courts, educational playground (with a theme about turtles), golf course, driving range and 590 acres' worth of hiking trails. Pavilions available for rent (accommodating up to 300 people), and picnic tables for campers. One can also rent a pergola as for weddings. Two full-service restaurants are on-site (Eighteen by Coppola's and Eagle's Nest on the Green, as well as s snack bar. Parking is always available, and bathrooms are open when not too cold.

Had Dinner at 19 holes restaurant. It is a perfect ten all the way. Excellent service and the food was outstanding. Plate one is the beef brisket, second is twin filet mignon, third dish is the polenta with cheese and spicy shrimp. OMG it was out of this world. Big plus we got to see a beautiful falcon when we arrived. The fire was beautiful. It was a perfect relaxing evening. I give them a 10+++++++ I love this place

James Baird Golf Course is a very good course and well maintained. $32 for 9 holes and a cart. Mostly straight fairways and level greens. They have a great restaurant with a bar. The staff is friendly and the food is very good. You can eat inside A/C; in a covered patio with fans or outside on the terrace with umbrellas. You have to reserve online and pay via credit/debit card (no cash).
