I grew up in this area. When I was a child in the 1970s the area around the house was largely still farmland and recently abandoned farmland. We played in these places, including the CM. Shamefully, the towns failed to preserve the one-room stone schoolhouse not far from CM, and the many beautiful and old farmhouses. Allowed to rot away or be converted into cheap shops. At least this once amazing home's ghost shell is still with us. The War of Independence was really a civil war and the Coldens were on the losing side.
