How have I not reviewed Bailey's Run yet? I love this place! Okay, they do have the new Whiskey Run, which is another reason why this place is awesome. You can get great wine and whiskey, along with local craft beer and handmade craft cocktails; so why aren't you there right now?! :-) I live in DC and see my husband's family in this area each summer. I always make a point to visit Bailey's....they had me at naming a vineyard after your dog. I love my dogs and try to take them on as many trips with us as possible. I also love wine and whiskey...this is clearly my kind of place. Look, I lived in northern California circa early 2000s and I came to like robust red wines. I understand, not everyone likes that end of the wine spectrum and that is great because Bailey's has a wine variety for almost any palette. White, red, blush, dry or juicy... they have you covered. Oh, and they have a whole line of bubbles, so mimosa folks, comeon over! If wine is not your thing, they have local craft brews and walk down the hallway to the huge whiskey and restaurant space. Get a craft cocktail. You won't be disappointed. Definitely get some food too. The pizzas are my favorite, but there is a great menu for the winery and even larger menu for the restaurant inside Whiskey Run. Service is always impeccable and live music Fridays through Sundays...at least during the summer. Come out and enjoy some great food and drinks with a vineyard backdrop and fun...
Read moreI have been here on numerous occasions and loved it. Love speaking with Janet and Todd at some of the local vendor events. I saw they needed a weekday bartender so reached out as stated to an email. The manager was awful trying to schedule with and I had open availability minus the first hour she suggested. Followed up 2 times finally was told could come today 10/11 but she’d be the only pizza person and if it wasn’t busy she could talk to me. I was trying to be understanding as being short staffed isn’t fun. I brought a book and planned on ordering a pizza and waiting.
There were 5 people working the pizza section. The lady with red hair was running around like the world was going to explode. It felt very chaotic. After waiting to speak to a bartender and asking for the manager she said the manager wasn’t there but she texted her, the older guy from the kitchen came up and berated the bartender for not ringing in the pizza as a bailey. Bartender tried to explain it was how the customer wanted but he just huffed off. I was told to have a seat so I did. Then the red haired waitress came up to deliver a pizza to the table next to me. It wasn’t right and she gave them a hard time and kept making comments to other tables. The lady at the table actually said I wish we stayed home. At that point I had already watched the manager walk in and not even try to come talk to me, I left. I don’t know if opening Whiskey Run did them in.. but the service and...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I enjoy Bailey's Run and will likely be back. Having said that, they were absolutely not equipped for Mother's Day. They were not offering any type of table service, which could be fine if organized well. Instead, they had one long line to order food and beverages. This line took about 30 minutes. You had to rejoin the never ending line to get another drink, even water.
We ordered 4 pizzas, a pretzel and nachos. The pretzel came out first. Way first. Like 40 minutes before anything else. We then got 2 of our pizzas and the nachos, while my husband was waiting in the never ending line for our second beverage. Our remaining pizzas were no where to be seen. After about 15 more minutes (and almost to the front of the line) my husband waived down a staff member to ask about our other pizzas. They had completely forgot (we already paid for them). Another 15 or so minutes, my husband finally returned to the table with drinks and our last pizzas arrived. In total we were there for 2 hours. It took 1 1/2 to get all of our food and my poor husband spent most of his time waiting in line.
The food was delicious, the venue is beautiful but we won't go back for a big...
