Update 7/23/23: Still really dirty and full of weeds. Was told by someone who had been going there since he was a child that the town stopped using the stuff that handles the weedsa few years ago. Still need a decent fishing dock and/or open up some openings to the lake from the trails as they're all overgrown.

Update 7/7/22: it seems that the lake itself get "messier and messier". There are so many weeds and the banks are overgrown so for fishing, it makes it really difficult to enjoy it because your line is constantly pulling weeds the entire time, even when your top water fishing. You can get to clear water if you take a boat but thats about it. The dock that is specific for fishing is extremely small so truly only fits 1 or 2 people and it does not go very far into the water. To get on the dock, you utilize cinderblocks which are wobbly. Id like to see thay they try and clear up the water somewhat and lower some brush on the banks so that you can actual fish without renting a boat and one day build a fishing-worthy dock.

Love the park. Huge playground for the kids, work out area, fishing, boat rentals, skating rink, hiking, pavilions, basketball, 2 bathroom locations which are always clean, and parking. Spring/Summer just make sure to wear bug spray or else your are going to get bit up really bad from the lake water because the mosquitos here are nearly unbearable...

Beautiful park but very discriminatory staff who are rude and expect you to check for a long time make you wait for no reason, and be berated for no reason. Sorry for the long rant but here is my experience below.

Ive never been completely Ignored in person before and have worked customer service for a while in the past. I kindly introduced myself to sign up and the first older booth person ignored me as he was trying to get the attention of another person before me which I understand might be stressful But was still unnecessarily dismissive and mean spirited.

The second time I tried to enter some other older guy wanted me to wait to enter and take his time checking for my sticker which is clearly placed on my by my dashboard. unfortunately they feel they can treat people like they Guard the road to narnia. My mom experienced a person I front of her involving a black person being argued with and not being allowed in. It definitely raises some concerns ! Mabye they do this to herd the crowd possibly im not sure but it’s something to note. It’s a shame because it’s such a nice park otherwise that the people of Newburgh should get to enjoy without rudeness and Awful experience I wish I could get refunded for my Forty dollars I could have spent elsewhere. It is a nice...

I usually have an enjoyable time here but this past Sunday, August 24, I went to do my workout in one of the pavilions… I usually do 20 minutes and then walk the entire trail. I started my work out at 8:30am and 10 minutes in a woman came and told me that she had the pavilion reserved for 9am. I said no problem I’ll be out before then. Then another woman came in and started vacuuming and said I hope you don’t mind. She started vacuuming around me as I was jumping rope. I explained to her that I’ll be out before their class as I explained to the first woman but she continued to vacuum all around me. I finished my jumprope workout at 8:50am more than enough time for them to clean and set up. I called and complained and the woman I spoke to said yes they come early to set up. Well if they come early to set up why not give them a few minutes early so they don’t interrupt someone else who happens to be in there before their rental time begins.. It was so rude and disrespectful and the person I called to complain about it to could have...

Visited today as an out of towner and got the year pass. The man at the gate was very informative and polite. The process took about five minutes and cost 40 bucks cash or check, unless you're a local. There is a trail around the whole lake, not paved but bike-able and a very nice walk. There are swans and fishing spots as well as boat rentals with oars, or you can bring a ln electric trolling motor to attach to a rental boat. Definitely coming back soon. For families, a massive very nice park that's like 3 jungle gyms combined surrounded by swings and smaller activities. It's directly by the parking lot and still boasts a nice lake view.

First time here after reviewing it on AllTrails. Was aware of the fee, but didn’t realize I was on the outskirt of the town and had to fork over $40. For the well-maintained park, and beautiful trails w/ frequent rest area (perfect for my senior 10 yr old dog), it’s a good deal. Gives you the feeling of membership. My only complaint is the restrictive work hours that make it hard to visit on a 9-5 workday schedule. Great for family outings and exercise.
