our group split between showshoeing and cross country. First, we showed up with the receipts from purchasing the online rentals. It was not clear online that we needed both rentals AND a trail pass. so, we needed to purchase $120 extra for 4 of us to get trail passes. Had the trails been marked well, maybe that would have been worth it. We spend A LOT of time at the beginning just trying to figure out where we were. Trail markings were AWFUL. at one point we ended up near a road instead of trails. the trail passes and rentals were overpriced. additionally, we didn't know we could spectate for the bobsled and skeleton experiences. we happened to find out and saw a few people run on skeleton. that may have been the highlight of the day. my advice--find somewhere else to XC ski...
Read moreCame here for an introduction to cross country ski. It was a little confusing to find, because the Google maps point is wrong. Go straight on to the Mountain Pass Lodge ticketing location. Everyone was very helpful and interested in us, from ticketing, to boot and ski rentals, to our instructors, Sarah and Ken. After a lesson, we spent another couple hours exploring the trails.
