The Delaney farm is on Kasson Road just north of where it crosses the Seneca Turnpike. They're currently (in August) selling corn, tomatoes and peppers. You can purchase the corn soon after it's picked, shuck it there into a basket on the floor so the leaves can be recycled as fertilizer for next year's crop, drive home and steam the ears for 5 minutes or so, insert cob holders, apply liberal amounts of butter and salt, and enjoy the most delicious corn you've ever tasted. I'm serious, if you're used to eating grocery store corn, this fresh corn is going to amaze you. By not storing it for days, the sugar can still be tasted as it hasn't had time to be converted to starch by enzymes that are still active in corn after it's been picked. Starch has all the calories, but none taste of sugar. So, time is the enemy of enjoying freshly-picked sweet corn. If you can't use it right away, blanche the ears to inactivate the starch-forming enzymes so the sugar level remains high. Then refrigerate until you can use it.

I bought the butter and sugar corn at the reginal market last week. It is without a boubt the best corn I've had since my great-grandmother's home grown in her garden. So good, in fact, that I drove right to the farm to get more this week. I also bought beautiful frying peppers and a gorgeous oregano plant. I'm sorry it took me so late in the season to find them. ...

Love Delaney Farms! Produce is excellent corn, kale, tomatoes etc. Also the spring plants are vibrant and reasonably priced. Joanne is very nice, knowledgeable person to deal with. And cash only is NOT a problem...nothing wrong with old school. Hats off to...
