I stopped her today to get a quick snack after my natures walk. My wife and I sat at the counter. After waiting for about 10-12 minutes the waitress came. I asked if they have hotdogs and fries. The waitress pointed at the menu where it stated hog and fries for $7.00. I asked if she could put chili on my hotdog. The waitress said yes, no problem. My wife order just a simple chili cheese fries. The we ordered a drink each. After the order was placed and the drinks came. My wife and I decided to go out side for a sit until the order was completed. We told then the waitress what we were doing and she said no problem. When we came back to the seat, my drink and silverware was missing. I asked for the drink and silverware to be returned. It took more the 10 minutes to Have my drink and even the silverware to Be returned. While the food Is getting cold. Now we are ready to pay and I had to wait nearly 15 minutes until I get the check, Now I look at the check and I see that I was charged $16.00 for my 7.00 hotdog and fries. When I was to see if there is some Kind of mistake. I was told that the item the waitress pointed to me and was very clearly priced $7.00. The waitress decided to charge me 16.00. And then told me that on their menu it stated that prices can vary. As an excuse for the price. Then she asked the owner. The owner stated take two dollars off the price. So my wife ordered chili cheese fries only and was charged 12.99. Just for the fries. There was barely any parking and even less tables for service. This is why we decided to sit at the counter. Guys and gals to top it off at the end after I payed the waitress came over and look up ( in front of me how much I gave for a tip. ) I just had to leave that this point. It’s not the prices that I have a real problem with , it’s the change in prices with my knowledge and overall experience of the waitress. As most people that know me, know I eat out a lot. A reasonable example would be like out of a week I eat out 5 days out of 7. In many restaurants. I would normally leave a photo or maybe comment about the portions or taste of the food. This way you would have a good idea of the many great places to eat. But here I will not promote this restaurant because of the treatment and even lack of care I witnessed for the people who are ordering. Customers should be treated with respect and the price for any item should be clearly stated and visible or at the very least clearly agreed a pound if it is going to be different then stated on the menu. Not just made up on the go and expected to be payed.
In closing thoughts: This restaurant at frist glance seemed to be promising. With the lack of parking in the main restaurant. I thought , well perhaps this is a good place. After parking and approaching the restaurant, it seemed atmospheric and even with a Halloween theme I thought it was pleasant entering the restaurant seemed extremely busy, which furthered my thoughts. It must be a good restaurant after experiencing what I have experienced. I will state that a restaurant should be paying attention to each and every customer in what their employees are doing, or lack of doing to present one thing to a customer and then give them another to take away their items and being forced to wait 15 minutes to even get back my drink and silverware while I wait for my food cooling in front of me that was not exactly pleasant. but after the pricing issue and the issue to even get a resolved which, by the way, the only resolution I received was that the owner knocked two dollars off of my meal. I would suggest if going to this place you will receive tasty food from what I’ve seen and tasted at least my meal, but you have no idea what you’ll be charged or even if you’ll get your meal or the way it’s supposed to be done or if even if it’s hot, I think this restaurant needs to rethink customer service. Good luck everyone and as usual God bless you...
Read moreIf they served breakfast in Heaven, you'd still doordash Finally Ours. In my quest to find my favorite eating places in my new home, I passed up Finally Ours several times. And for that, I'm grateful. I never would have tried anywhere else and might not have been able to fully appreciate all this restaurant had to offer. It truly sets the standard. From the moment I entered the establishment, the experience was flawless. I didn't have even a minute to take in the tasteful, clean, and trend worthy decor before I was greeted and seated. The spaciousness of the dining room was not only ample for comfortable seating but served to turn the overwhelming din of a full restaurant into a pleasant and energetic backdrop, only enhancing the ambiance. As a single, I took a place at the bar and wasn't any less comfortable for it. The seats were quality and accommodating, the counter surface perfectly sanitary without any concern for the dreaded sticky residue. Each place was set for service with adequate stock of your breakfast necessities. No need to ask for the obvious cream and sugar for your coffee. Wide assortment of adorably portioned jams for your toast? Already there. A stack of high quality napkins tall enough to make you feel gluttonous is awaiting your use. The service picked up where the environment left off. It wasn't two minutes before I had a menu in hand and my drink order was already being delivered. Throughout my dining experience it was nearly impossible to discern who my primary server was, considering I was assisted by no less than five people in the course of the meal and each took individual ownership of the overall service being provided. The menu, while spanning multiple meal periods and very extensive, was not overwhelming or difficult to interpret. In what I would consider as physically close to perfect timing as possible, I was being politely asked if I was ready to place my order or if I would like a few more moments. No more than ten minutes after placing my order, my meal was being delivered. Given the time of day and the number of parties seated, I was genuinely surprised by how quickly my food arrived. The portions were more than generous, and the home fries which I had initially considered too light were, in fact, cooked to greater perfection than any I had eaten in my life. The omelet was not overly wet, which was a miracle considering I included both mushrooms AND spinach in my build-your-own option. The chef must be a witch to have pulled that off. The quality of ingredients was outstanding, and each one balanced to perfection. Now to the corned beef hash. I have been permanently ruined by the extasy of this usually humble side dish. Each bite packed so much flavor you could have thrown two eggs over easy on it and it would have been the most incredible breakfast I've had in my life. In fact, I'm sure that was a menu option. Get. The. Hash. I swapped the customary toast for a bagel and couldn't contain my glee when I opened the two halves of said bagel to find that instead of the usual pale and slightly tan tinged pieces of dense bread I've come to expect, I found my favorite carb option to be golden brown across the entire surface with an appropriate dappling of dark crisp around the edges. I dug into the perfect breakfast with both vigor and trepidation. I knew the trouble would come when I would have to force myself to put down the fork when I inevitably reached capacity long before the dish was gone. I'm hooked and will be returning at my earliest opportunity. P.S. the cake is worth every calorie. It is also important to note that while I spent just over $30, including a hefty slice of cake to-go for this meal, the portions were so lavish I was able to get three servings out...

Review:
Stepping into Finally Ours Diner, I was instantly welcomed by the warmth and friendliness that sets this place apart. Upon entering, the hostess, Heidi, greeted me with a big smile and immediately made me feel at home. I asked for counter seating, and she kindly let me know I could sit anywhere I liked. She followed me to my chosen spot with a menu and utensils, ensuring I was all set to enjoy my meal.
No sooner had I sat down than Julio, one of the servers, approached me with a cheerful, "Can I get you something to drink?" I ordered a coffee, and it arrived right away—fresh, hot, and exactly what I needed to kick off the morning.
As I scanned the menu, Lisa, the owner, came over to take my order. I was pleasantly surprised to see her so hands-on. Her warm, friendly demeanor made me feel even more excited about my meal. I ordered the steak medium rare, with crispy hash browns, eggs over easy, and rye toast. I also requested a tomato juice, which Lisa brought herself. Noticing that it was a bit room temperature, she thoughtfully asked if I wanted ice, a small gesture but a great example of the diner’s attention to detail. I opted to take it without ice, and it was just perfect.
While waiting for my meal, I couldn’t help but notice how clean and inviting the diner was. Even the salt, pepper, sugar, and condiments were spotless—something you rarely see in many diners. It was clear that cleanliness and orderliness are a priority here, even during busy times.
In what felt like no time at all, Betty arrived with my breakfast. Her calm, unhurried presentation was refreshing, and I could tell right away that this was going to be a fantastic meal. The steak, a thick cut for a breakfast entrée, was cooked perfectly—something many steakhouses struggle with, yet this small diner nailed it. The hash browns were crispy just as I asked, the eggs over easy were perfectly done, and the rye toast was just right.
A little while into my meal, Lisa came back to check if everything was to my liking, and I was more than happy to tell her it was exceptional. I requested an iced water, and within moments, Tallon, another member of the team, brought it over. He seemed to do it all—bussing tables, serving, and lending a hand wherever needed.
Before I finished, Betty returned to check on me, and I could tell she was genuinely interested in how my meal was—not the usual rushed “everything okay?” but a real, heartfelt inquiry. It’s rare to see such genuine care and teamwork in a busy diner, but here, everyone works in perfect harmony. Tables were cleared and cleaned quickly without guests ever feeling rushed.
The whole experience was relaxed, comfortable, and made me feel like I was part of a family. Everything from the service to the food and the pristine cleanliness was flawless. My taste buds were delighted, and I couldn’t help but think, "Bravo!" for such a spectacular visit.
If you haven’t been to Finally Ours Diner, make sure you plan a visit soon—you’ll definitely be back for more. It’s a gem in Syracuse, with consistent quality, friendliness, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that keeps you coming back for more. Trust me, you won’t be...
