Read moreThis was a neat little museum. But to get to it, you need to enter Camp Douglas and Volk Field. This means going through security which means a car search before entering the base. Security took my husband's driver's license and held onto it until we left. They also gave us a GPS unit to keep in our car and they told us they would be tracking it throughout the base and we could only go to the museum and nowhere else. That was an adventure! The museum certainly has all of the artifacts and displays but they are clearly dated or unfinished. By this I mean that the presentations could be updated (appearance wise) and unfinished in that the post 1950’s material was lacking descriptive material.
