Cortland Repertory Theatre — Attraction in Town of Preble

Seeing Hello, Dolly! at the Cortland Repertory Theatre was truly special for me. I went with my aunt—someone I’ve loved sharing this musical with since I was young—and the performance exceeded all expectations. The energy, the vocals, the costumes… everything was vibrant and full of heart.

The cast brought so much joy and charm to the stage, and the intimate setting made the whole experience feel personal and immersive. You could feel how much the performers cared, and it made the show all the more magical.

The theater itself is such a gem—clean, welcoming, and beautifully located. Parking was easy, the staff was friendly, and it felt like the kind of place where people really love what they do.

I love this little theatre, have gone at least once every summer since I bought a recreational place nearby in 2004. This is their 49th year of putting on local entertainment and it is just a delight in a small community like this. Kirby, the chief of the operation, is a bright and upbeat fellow who always manages to bring in great talent and stage wonderful shows.
