Beautiful mansion and grounds right on the Hudson. Great for hiking, picnics and just relaxing. My kids love the frog ponds and the gardens are beautiful. Mosey on down to the mansion and you can sit in comfortable chairs on the covered porch and just enjoy the fresh air and the gorgeous views of the river. There's a large open field where you can fly kites, toss a ball or frisbee around or even fly drones. Plenty of picnic tables around the entire property. A great place to spend a pleasant day...

Beautiful estate now owned by Bard College. The landscape and the mansion reminded me of a southern plantation. Beautiful arboretum with lots of interesting trees in the style of an English garden. As pointed out at the entrance, Montgomery Place was initially a slave-holding property. The entrance pavillion reminded me uncannily of Louis Kahn's Trenton Bath House.
