You can enjoy the estate & gardens at your leisure & can even spare some moments to lie in the grass, watch the leaves dance in the wind & throw shadows on the ground, and perhaps even close your eyes for a bit of a cat nap. Absolutely beautiful property, a gorgeous โ€œSecret Gardenโ€, along with views of the Hudson river and the mountains in the background. You can stroll the grounds and trails or sit in a chair on the lawn. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Went July 4 and the garden was in full bloom.

Found this while looking for things to do while visiting the area. The Manor is not open to the public, but the grounds in the Summer are breath taking. Perfect for a photoshoot for any occasion. Perfect for a lazy day and a picnic.

Robert Donaldson would be unhappily stunned to see the current condition of his creation. We stopped here yesterday and were totally dismayed. All perennials were overgrown and untouched by at least 2-3 years. There were a few blooms struggling to make an appearance. The setting is stunning. This and the architecture are the only things to be appreciated. The pool was empty. Nothing was maintained. Quite sad. Contrary to Bardโ€™s website, the grounds are by no means what they were meant to be. Covid cannot be blamed...
