Hyke Preserve is a beautiful place too go. It’s one of mine and my husband’s favorite place to go to see the waterfalls. In fact on August 16th 2025, that’s where we decided to have our wedding ceremony. The experience of being married in front of the waterfall was wonderful, however the conservation officer(or whatever she was) ruined picture time for us and the photographer. She was rude, and stood and watched us the entire time we were there like we were doing something wrong. She took our photographers name and number, and told her she wasn’t aloud to take pictures, if she was a professional photographer. She’s not a professional photographer, she’s a family friend with a great camera. We wanted to take more pictures by the waterfall, but whoever this “Karen” was made us very uncomfortable so we had to leave. Read moreWe had a great time on our hike today. We weren't sure where to find the trail head, but some friendly people gave us directions to the water falls. (Park at the Visitor's Center - right now there is a closed off bridge that makes it look like you cannot access the Visitor's Center, but a parking lot and building with a restroom really is down that dirt road. Parking is free.)
We chose to do the water fall hike, which took less than a half hour, and then did the walk around the lake. The lake hike was about 3 miles and took us a couple of hours at a leisurely pace. If you're looking for a place to bring a picnic, the overlook by the waterfall has a nice area to set up a blanket and have a view.

Other Then That It's All Houses And Hotels Around There. The Bottom Of The Waterfall Is Less Then 5 Minutes From The Parking Lot. You Can Hear It Right When You Pull Up. You Cross A Bridge And Then You Go To The Bottom Of The Falls. I Personally Think The Middle View Was The Best. That Was Up To The Right After You Cross The Bridge. To Get To The Top Overlook You Walk Through The Woods For A Little Bit And Then You Can Look Down Over The Top. All 3 Views Are Great. This Is Well Worth The Drive.
