I gave this three stars because the farm and entertainment part are great, but the petting zoo animals are not cared for properly and should be re-homed.
Most animals are in tiny enclosures, fed an improper diet, and look stressed.
You have ducks, chickens, and turkeys mixed together and they fight. Ducks have no filtered ponds to swim in and clean feathers, and a tiny bucket of dirty water. Constant walking on land hurts joints and they are fed a poor diet and overweight. Ducks eat grasses, aquatic plants, fruits, veggies, and insects. They are living on dry dirt fed pellets and cheap seed and can’t swim. Turkeys and chickens should be free range to feed on grasses, flowers, seeds, insects, and fruit and explore and roost in branches. Instead they are crammed in tiny cages. The peacocks should be free range too to fly and roost not roost on a metal truck. The emus are stressed and one was breathing heavily not looking good, they need bigger enclosure to run around and shade from trees and grass to eat. The hoofed animals (horses, cows, donkeys, goats, sheep) all belong in large fields and pastures on grass and shrubs running around grazing all day to get exercise and wear teeth down. Dry hay and pellets is a poor diet and they had no space to run, graze, or water to cool down in. You had pigeons sleeping on plastic igloos. They sleep in nest boxes high off the ground away from other animals and ledges with nest material. You had none of that. The way they sleep is painful and chickens were pecking them. The only decent enclosure was the rabbits.
You’d need to take half of your farm property to make a proper zoo with proper enclosures. If you can’t care for the animals properly you shouldn’t own them. Teaching kids to cram animals in small cages just for entertainment and profit is wrong. Suffolk SPCA should investigate this. If you don’t believe my knowledge on proper animal care look it all up what...
Read moreI wanna thank everyone the staff and guests who were at finks country farm today Wed 10/30/2024 around 2pm for watching my Sandy she had jumped out of my car while I was loading my plants and finding my AirPods that was under my car seat, as I got home I noticed how quiet the car ride was and as I was arriving home, I thought Sandy was probably laying down or under the seat because she does that and was going to take Sandy to the dog park but no that’s when I realized she wasn’t in the car this entire time returning home leaving from Fink’s and I just went into panic mode and just cried started to think the worst that could’ve happened because the farm is located on middle country rd where it’s a state route and every driver is going 50-60 MPH and I called the farm and asked if they seen my Sandy and thank God they had her there safe and the women on the phone was telling me to calm down and how Sandy was in safe hands and I just want to thank everyone at Fink's Country Farm for having her safe and returning my Sandy safe and alive thank you and support your local farms and they are pet friendly too !! Read moreThis farm is amazing, people who work here are super friendly, and the entertainment is vast. During weekends they have live music, a massive maze, pumpkin field, amazing scented candles, homemade pies and fresh picked organic vegetables and fruits. I love the petting zoo area, it's amazing how much these people love their animals, each enclosure basically has its own playground for the animals to enjoy and they're so friendly! The goats and pigs and donkeys and baby deer and baby piglets and goats and baby rabbits are so affectionate! Sheep too! They have more animals than that even I just don't have the patience to write it all out. They have and huge hay play area that looks like something out of wwe farmers edition, the guy who appears to be mr. Fink is very friendly very sociable, definitely gives extra incentive to go aside from the vast array of things to do at finks farm, I'd go back just for the friendly conversations my family and the employees had! Petting zoo is a must!!! I'm 21 and I loved it! You're never too old!!! Going this Sunday and every year im alive !!! Great experience easily deserves 5 stars I'd give...
