Schmitt's Farm Stand on Sound — Attraction in Town of Riverhead

So , My Fiance & I went for a drive out East this past Saturday (4/11/20) and I was so beyond pleased with everything. They had an amazing menu that you grab, you write everything you want, hand it in, and they bring all of your items to your car. During these times of struggle , they made us feel safe , comfortable, and their timing was beyond !!! The pies were the best pies I have ever had, & wet so fresh that they requested we leave the box slightly open as they just came out of the oven! (If I had a fork I would have dove in right there lol) I was so pleased with my experience when I left , the 3 family’s I told all Hopped in their cars, took the ride out East from Nassau county, and also went !!!! I’m sad the pies are gone, (yes only 4 people in our house right now and they were that good that they are both gone in 2 days lol) but my fiancé is still enjoying the 4 different homemade horseradish he got ! During times like this, I was so happy to support a local business and can’t wait to go back !! After realizing that the Christmas trees on Long Island, at this point in time, need some time to grow. We ended up here at Schmidt's Family Farm. Unfortunately, at this farm there were no trees to cut down. There were pre-cut trees in an assortment of sizes available. I believe these trees are shipped in from Canada. Nice and quaint. Christmas trees, apples, apple pies, Christmas carvings. A lot of Long Island grown fruit and vegetables. Locally made wood carvings with a Christmas theme. The prices are fair and the staff is friendly. All natural ingredients made by them or the locals. If you want to support local small business, this is the type of place to come.
