Historic Eagleville Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge located in Washington County, NY. The bridge was built in 1858 and crosses the Batten Kill. It incorporates the Town lattice truss design. It is arguably the most picturesque of all covered bridges in Washington County. With a rope swing on one side hanging from a tree, it looks like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting. There is a fishing parking lot located a few hundred yards from the bridge if you want to walk up to it. You can also drive across the bridge. There is very little traffic in the area so it is possible to enjoy peace and quiet here. The Batten Kill also adds to the beautiful scenery in the area. Overall, a nice spot to enjoy a piece of history and scenic views.

Great swim spot. Rope swing and the water is deep enough to safely land. Park down the road from the bridge and walk down to the river.

My old stomping grounds where we used to spend summer days floating down the Battenkill River. This particular spot there is a rope swing that’s very popular and enjoyed by all ages. I was excited to share this experience with my children. Since then we have gone back each summer for a full day of fun!!

Eagleville Covered Bridge is marked as a historical site. One of four covered bridges the remains in...

I found this historic bridge by chance, and it is beautiful. The river, the farm land & the entire landscape are gorgeous. Also, if you are a bit hot, there is a small beach under the bridge with a swinging rope for the more...
