I’ve been here a few time and other times have been generally great, haven’t had any issues with dogs or people up until now. I went with my 5 month old puppy who is wonderful with other dogs and loves people. He is very chill and not super engaging with other dogs, until he went up to a dog that was in the park where he got no closer than two feet to the other dog and the dog turned around and bit my dog in the face! My dog yelped and ran to me, when I asked who’s dog the border collie was I was met with blank stairs and no answer. Until a woman WHOM DID NOT OWN THE DOG came up to me and said he’s fine, if he’s not bleeding yet it’s probaly not that bad. I explained to her that he NEVER yelps unless he’s actually hurt, where I was then essentially told I don’t know anything about MY DOG and that we shouldn’t kick the dog who bit out because and I quote “He’s deaf, so it’s fine.” I understand that these kinds of altercations happen and my dog is probaly alright but giving this kind of excuse to a reactive dog SURROUNDED by other dogs is NOT EXCEPTABLE!!! If you see a border collie (black and white dog with long hair) and a green collar that states the dog is deaf, something which I had not seen before the bite, please do not let your dog near it!! It WILL BITE!! And I also understand that in this photo his bite does not look that bad but any sized wound on my dog worries me and pisses me off because dog parks are supposed to be for well behaved and...
Read moreGreat dog park I’ve been taking my beloved dog there since she was a puppy! Never had a problem until today. There is a fenced in space for both large and smaller dogs, witch I believe is for a good reason. Today the large dog area was pretty busy lots of dogs lots of fun for my dog especially because I take her there to get her running around and let some energy out. This man brought his clearly under 35 pound dog into the big area? Didn’t have a issue with it until I see this dog scared of the big dogs leading this corgi to be aggressive and start biting my dog!! Ripped her shock collor off her neck! My dog thinks the corgi (Macy ) is playing but we knew better and the man picks up the corgi and my dog jumped up on the man. Which would easily been avoided if he took his dog to the correct area. I apologized for my dog jumping up on him. And he was so rude!! It’s a dog park for goodness sake what do you expect, especially when you’re disobeying the clearly posted signs at the entrance. Shaking my head at this establishment and there should be a park ranger or someone making sure people are obeying the rules. So things like this are avoided! Such a shame I had to leave this park because of other...
Read moreAt least 4 car's windows were broken and stuff stolen from them. A fellow park goer said this has been happening all summer.
Also though most people and their dogs are nice in the small dog section but in the big dog section I often see/hear aggressive dogs and I've seen a dog steal someone's hat 2 times and the owner didn't intervene until the child chased the dog for a few minutes. I've also seen another owner try to break up a dog fight by slapping the other dog with her sweatshirt.
Speaking of children lately there have been kids in the enclosures which is fine with me but they are not playing with their own dogs. The children often chase dogs or throw leaves, frisbees, and sticks at dogs. I also notice some are unsupervised when their parents are in the big dog enclosure. This is a dog park not a child's playground, it's supposed to be a safe place for my dog to socialize with other dogs, not to be picked up by kids and chased. I have a dachshund so I'm careful...
