Today we decided to go paddle boarding and Kayaking for the first time, we arrive at KayakShack without a reservation, the young lady(blonde) told us that they we’re booked and explained the process but they take do take walk ins , we would’ve go to online and book it and sign off on some waivers which was fine with us ….we walk away and watch some folks get out on the water… as we’re walking away a young couple approached the counter and ask if they can get out paddle boarding and the girl yes no problem she even ask if they reservation and say No as you can image I was Livid in fact to make sure I was hearing the conversation correctly the young couple was parked 2 cars away from me , so i approached them and ask if they had reservation …they say no we just walk up and ask for 2 boards … so was it discrimination on an older couple ? while I’ve never use that I couldn’t believe what just happen !! We have a lot friends that go there ,they’ll get in ear full today this happen at 1:45 …On the good side we drove around 9p and there was another place next door to Brown beach which was awesome, and you get more time on the water then you do...
Read moreHarvest & Hearth is one of my family's favorite places to eat in Saratoga Springs. The atmosphere is very "California"; laid back, friendly, but without being lazy. It gets it's vibe from being on Fish Creek and adjacent to a Kayak shop on one side and a kayak rental on the other along with a dock right out front. People bring their kids and walk around on the lawn next to the stream, relax in the hammocks, and enjoy the deck. The pizza is fantastic with a very thin crust and excellent quality toppings, great salads and sides. My wife and I usually get "The Natural". They stress their usage of organic ingredients which may be important to some people, and they don't rely on drowning the pizza in too much cheese to make up for weak toppings or bad crust. The cheese is high quality and in the right amount of moderation to allow all the other ingredients to stand on their own. My only regret with this restaurant is that it's so popular. Read moreThe young blonde gentleman working today was extremely rude to our group. As we were loading up our kayaks to go out on the water, he was visibly frustrated that we were taking so long and firmly told us we needed to move out of the way.
There were no other groups behind us. Not to mention, when we came back, there were 15+ kayaks that needed to be put away blocking the load/unload area. Clearly it was just our group that needed to move.
Maybe the guy was having a bad day but rushing us was completely unnecessary. I would have got it if people were waiting or if we were late to our reservation but it just seemed like he was so inconvenienced he had been asked...
