Victory Woods was a lovely surprise — a peaceful, short hike that’s perfect for a quick nature escape. The trail is very well maintained, mostly level, and shaded almost the entire way, which made it especially enjoyable on a warm day. It’s a great spot for walking dogs, stretching your legs, or just getting a dose of fresh air surrounded by history and quiet beauty.

That said, bring bug spray! The mosquitoes were definitely out in full force during our visit. If you’re bringing pets, I’d also recommend making sure they’re protected with a heartworm preventative — it's a beautiful area, but the bugs are no joke.

We’re likely to return, especially with our dogs, as it’s such a convenient and low-effort way to enjoy the outdoors. Just come prepared and you’ll have...

This is a great little park. It has a synthetic deck path built with a ramp in the main historic area making it accessible to most. There are information placards that tell the story of events which occured there during the revolutionary war. There is a gravel path which connects to memorial park on one end and to a local street on the other. There are benches and even a picnic table in the deck area which can accommodate wheel chairs. Nice views of the hudson river. Mostly level terrain makes for a...

As the weather starts to warm-up we wanted to get outside and chose the Victory Woods Trail. What a great find here in the Village of Schuylerville! So quiet and steeped in so much history. It is an easy walk without much elevation change and the boardwalk is wheelchair accessible. There is a picnic table, too. We actually started our walk from the Saratoga Monument and went through the cemetery which was also a great place to be. All in all, very enjoyable and I can see where this will be a regular...

Really nice place at the back of a historic cemetery and the monument. There are placards throughout this walk that teach about the war and Saratoga. Peaceful place, manmade walkway to make it easier. I go there often when I want to think.

Nice trail from Monument through the cemetery and into the adjacent woods. Shared parking and bathroom with the Monument. Free entry and parking. The Monument is open on weekends during the summer months.
