We arrived during a rain storm of biblical proportions, followed by thunder and lightning that kept everyone out of the water. When safety precautions finally permitted us to consider entering the water, we were a bit surprised to find that beach fees were cash only, despite several prior phone calls to obtain details regarding the lake and the facility before our lengthy trip to get there. This cash requirement could have easily been mentioned on the phone. Heading out to swim, we found that most of this year’s sand had been washed into the lake. Nothing daunted, we continued to the far edge of the square swim area. The water clarity improved tremendously as we got farther from the shore. The swim area would be extremely frustrating for a serious adult swimmer with any leg length because the water is nowhere more than chest or waist deep. However, for a family with children, this swim area would be quite lovely, and very safe. There is a lifeguard station at the outer edge of the swim area and a lifeguard on duty on the beach. The bottom is mostly free of muddy icky stuff, , and there are very few weeds. The swim area is flanked by two areas where dozens of Motorcraft and a few sailing craft are moored. I don’t know what this presence of gasoline powered engines would do to the water on a truly busy day. The bathrooms are very modern and largely quite clean although they suffer from the usual problems of water on the floor that plague all rest rooms near swimming places. There is a very basic snack bar that serves hot dogs and ice cream . One may bring a picnic to...
Read moreIt's nice place for one day picnic near Albany. My friend just suggested me to go there but that was the amazing experience. I was planning to go to lake George but time didn't permit to do so and then I visited this place and that made my day. The beach has entry fees. Face masks were compulsory. And beach is safe. Water is also good and comparatively clean. Can also play with balls and frisbee in water. Some of the part were private and was not allowed to enter without permission. That part was mostly for boat owners. And some people were also playing with pets in water at the different side not at the public side. One of the nice beach. I believe who have visited will think why this much good rating but it's a small but beautiful place. The beach authorities allows limited number of people at the same time but I believe it's mostly due to COVID-19 pandemic. If you are making sudden plans than you can visit this beach that can heal your mood. Overall it was awesome experience and I...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible beach and staff!!! We get there about 25 minutes before they close..not realizing it because it was our first time there... They charge 13 bucks and can't even have the decency to tell is they're closing shortly...my son was very upset when they kicked us out and we demanded our money back and they wouldn't budge..they all came up staring and some laughing about it...they are disgusting awful people and should be FIRED. Money hungry much??!! Also, never knew of a beach that costs that much..I go to the cape often and most beaches are either free or like 6 bucks. This beach is trash. I'll NEVER go again. It's a dinky little place anyway .. but again the staff is horrendous and I bet if they were in our place they'd be upset also. Karma will...
