The new Holiday Mountain is INCREDIBLE! My family and I used to come to Holiday Mountain from the early 90's through the mid 2000's. It was always a nice but simple skiing and snowboarding experience, but it was usually a day trip or stopover till going to larger (but much further away!) mountains. Well... the new owners have shown how truly great a small, local mountain can be! I was blown away by the quality of the new trails, and the thoughtfulness of the new park layout. They managed to squeeze a ton of fun and dynamic trails into the newly revamped "Turkey Trot" area that is now serviced by a great 4-person chair lift that rode beautifully, smoothly, and quickly! The runs are very modern in design and slope, and allow for advanced skiers or boarders to go blazingly fast if they want, while still giving beginners the ability to slow down and transition to easier portions of the trails. They created very easily navigated transitions from the north side of the park's trails to the south side of the park's trails. They added a Double Black Diamond run called "Hackledam" that is absolutely amazing and incredibly steep. The snow was groomed perfectly and the quality was as good or better than many mountains that are much farther away and much more expensive. The value of this newly revamped Holiday Mountain cannot be matched! To have something this nice only an hour and a half outside NYC is amazing! This is an EASY day trip for anyone looking for winter fun.
They have a great "Lessons Area" that is serviced by a brand new magic carpet that made my 9yr old daughter's first snowboarding trip "the best day EVER!" I cannot say enough good things about her instructor, Andrew O. who had my daughter doing heel stops in minutes and toe-turns by the end of her lessons. His patience and attention to detail was amazing! He helped instill a foundational love for snowboarding that will last a lifetime and I will be forever grateful for his ability to help my daughter feel so confident and comfortable throughout her 1st trip.
The entire staff was amazingly helpful, from the people at the counter registering my daughter for lessons, to the rental area where my wife rented her boots, to the people in the gift shop. The cafeteria has great food and there is a ton of seating. Even on Saturday when it was packed, there were still places to sit comfortably. There's also a Maine Waffle Shack outside the South Lodge that was incredible for a quick mid-morning snack! They have a wonderful bar (The Lift Room!) that has really nice live trail cams, so you can keep an eye on party members while you're taking a break.
They have a fantastic snow tubing area with a magic carpet as well, for when the kids (and adults!) get tired and need a break from the slopes! There is a ton of parking and they even have great staff guiding people in the lot as well! The attention to detail by the new owners is truly impressive!
As someone who spent my 20's & 30's coming to Holiday Mountain for an inexpensive & simple (but still fun!) time snowboarding with friends and family, I am in awe of how well done these renovations have been. The entire park was incredibly clean and the staff was amazing! This will be a vacation spot for my family for many many...

Traumatic experience all around. This place is run by teens who don't know what their doing and don't care.
We went snow tubing here with our toddler. After the first time the tod and me went down the mountain, seconds after got out of our double tube and started walking to clear the lane, we were hit at full speed by the next person who was sent down that lane.
My wife, who was about to go down in the next lane, saw that the teen running our lane was about to send the next person off when we barely just got up and couldn't believe her eyes. She yelled that we were still in there, but he ignored here.
I suffered a back injury and whiplash. My son was thrown in the air and by sheer luck landed in his tube. I got up and picked him up. He was terrified and crying. NO ONE EVEN CAME TO SEE IF WE OR THE PERSON WHO HIT US WERE OK (they were standing 10 feet away with a walky. Nothing.)
When I confronted the guy running the lanes from below, he first told me "why didn't you get out faster" (he gave us a "briefing" before the session. All he said was "go on the magic carpet one at a time, and other than that just be careful". THAT WAS IT), but then immediately went on to blame the kid working the lane from above.
When we tried to get out, the way down was pure ice, and super dangerous. Everyone was slipping. Another dad started shouting at them for not doing anything about it.
Obviously my kid was so rattled he wanted to leave immediately. We had to go all the way back in and talk to the person working the register (Desiree). She offered to call the ski patrol EMTs to come and see if we were concussed or needed urgent care. They were way more professional, kind, and courteous (they don't work for Holliday Mountain, they are volunteers) At first she wouldn't even give us a refund (we were out in the lanes for 5 mins.) and said we had to go see her boss or call him on the phone fort hat, but after the EMTs came she must have called him herself, and said we would be refunded. I'm still waiting for that refund... (will update if I...

Now 30 and teaching my own kids. I have Been out there eight times so far this year. The way they accommodate the mountain when there is a fresh powder is amazing. All the side trails and little cuts on each side of All the main trails are some fun times ! The addition of Turkey Trot took Holiday to a different level. I have seen the good the bad and the ugly of the past 27 years here at Holiday and I just wanna take a moment to give the BIGGEST HEARTFELT THANK YOU and show appreciation to every last person that has took on a roll to make the mountain what it is today. Every single last Person deserves their flowers! Also a special shout out to the rental room crew. It doesn’t matter what it is, if they can help you they are the first ones there to do so.
