This is a place to see! This wooded path leads to an amazing site “ Tinker Falls”. We went on one path that leads to the bottom of the falls. This path takes you along a stream that’s surrounded by woods and leads beneath the falls. There is another that I plan on taking that leads to the top. There’s a parking area across the street and a handicap parking at the beginning of the paths. The right path leads to the bottom the left to the top. From the bottom you can cross the stream, by walking over rocks or logs but my feet did get wet ( 🤣) the a path leads to some rugged stairs that are narrow and that makes this climb up a little tricky but it’s not a long hike up so take your time and it’s well worth getting up there. The other path ( which I did not go on but plan to) leads from the top ( where you cross the falls ) then down to the stream below. It was rainy and cool when we went so I suggest to layer because it’s in the woods. If it’s sunny and warmer I would wear shorts but sneakers or hiking boots are recommended . This is not far from Labrador Hollow around two miles down the road. Parking is limited so get there early like we did and it shouldn’t be an issue. The road is busy but when crossing you can see ahead enough to avoid cars or trucks using this highway. I will be back to walk the other path! I...
Read moreI hadn't been to Tinker Falls since I was a kid, so this was my first time going as an adult! There were a few different trails that led to either the top of the falls or behind the falls. There is a shallow stream that runs from the falls down about half a mile or so. It looked like the stream used to continue but has dried up. My boyfriend and I used the slim stone stairs to get up to a path that leads behind the falls. The day we went, the stairs were wet and muddy, and therefore slippery! Even with good hiking shoes on, I slid a couple times and had to be very cautious on the stairs. The waterfall is definitely unique, falling timidly off a flat overhang. There was another set of stairs that continued to the top of the falls, but it was practically a mudslide that day, so we avoided it. After our trek down the stairs, we decided we had seen enough of the falls, so we walked through the creek until it ran out of water.
Overall it was a fun experience and I would definitely go again! I would use caution at the stairs and keep in mind that it is much more slippery on the way back down. There are also NO railings or anything other than rock...
Read moreAmazing Area! The walk to get to the falls was extremely flat and on a nice gravel path with benches along the way. Once you get to the falls it’s absolutely stunning! You can view the falls from the ground, or you can crawl over some rocks to get to the hand laid steps that lead to the path that goes behind the falls. There is a clear and safe path along the natural wall that leads to the other side where you can even further up to climb on top of the falls and see the stream from a great height. I opted to not climb back down the steps due to it being very slippery and muddy on my trip and found the connecting trail that goes along the top of the slopes that look down onto the stream. I do warn, the hike to the scenic overlook is not an easy one! Make sure you are wearing the correct shoes and bug spray. It’s a very steep climb up and slow coming down if you are not as...
