Taughannock Falls, located inside Taughannock Falls State Park is a 215 foot waterfall with several hiking trails and lots and lots of nature. You can visit for free but must pay for parking. The parking lot is 5 dollars per car for parking but you may want to check their website as prices can change. The paths are all very well maintained and easy to hike with gravel trails and minimal stairs. You can bring the kids and your dogs too because even they can safely navigate their way on any one of the hiking trails here. There are benches to stop and rest along the way with different viewpoints to stop and take video and pictures from different angles and perspectives. The gorge trail is the easiest hike and you can walk all the way to the foot of Taughannock Falls for an amazing view. You should bring bug spray and protection from the sun because you will be surrounded by trees along a forest and it gets a bit buggy sometimes. The only downside is there's only 2 porter potties for bathrooms on the gorge trail and they were pretty gross. Overall I had a great experience and if you're chasing Waterfalls like me, you won't want to...

My older mom and I were wearing our masks and people were walking in the other direction past us without masks and one man saw us with our masks and stepped in front of us and did this big exaggerated hacking cough into our faces, literally his spit hit my face and then he kept walking. We were just shocked we didn’t do anything and we have no way of identifying him so we didn’t report but am now concerned about my mothers health and think this could’ve been prevented by enforcing the mask rule. It really ruined...
Read moreStopping in Ithaca for just a day, several locals said this was one of the top falls to visit...and it did not disappoint! The falls were magnificent...taller than Niagara. The trails were well kept and there were excellent photo opportunities. In addition to the hike down to the falls, the North Rim and South Rim trails were a great addition to the experience. Our elementary aged kids loves it. Its a great place for animals as lots of folks were walking their dogs. The restroom facilities were clean and well maintained while the gift shop and park employees were helpful in making the most of our time there. Parking was a little full on a Sunday afternoon, but there was a triathlon...
